Mr. Larance Dedrick

DEDRICK, Mr. Larance - age 79, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Rev. Theodis Flournoy officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Dedrick will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Larance Dedrick “Shade Tree” was born August 4, 1934 in Sherrill, AR, to Johnnie and Sophronia (Sea) Dedrick. Larance confessed belief in Jesus Christ at an early age in England, AR. and attended Gartrell High School. Larance retired from Buick, a division of General Motors in 1987 after 35 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #598. After his retirement he devoted his life to helping his family. He loved to go to the casino. Mr. Larance Dedrick “Shade Tree” leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Barbara Dedrick; 2 daughters, Lawanda Osborn, Lashanda Osborn; 4 sons, Lawrence Lee, Larry Osborn, Jerid Scales, all of Flint and John L. (Toni) Scales of San Diego, CA; 5 step-children, Andre, Jerry, Rick (Carman) and Bobby Osborn, all of Flint; aunt, Pearl Hudson of England, AR; special cousin, Jimmie Hudson of Chicago, Il; sister-in-law, Charline Tidwell of Pine Bluff, AR; 2 brother-in-laws, Andrew Ollings of Flint and Theodis (Orlease) Flournoy of Stockton, CA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, god-children, other relatives and friends including Liz Osborn and Lorraine Lee. Mr. Dedrick was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Sophornia Dedrick; sisters, Ollie Woodward and Travlee Vanburen; brother, Johnny Dedrick, Jr.; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Mae Anne Flournoy Sr,; sister-in-law, Glory J. Releford; brothers-in-law, Richard and Lee Author Flournoy. The family would like to express special thanks to Lawrence E.
