MILLER, Mr. Lamar "Shorty" - Age 70, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Miller will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Lamar “Shorty” Miller was born July 24, 1945 in Flint, Michigan. He was the son of the late Benonia and Clara Miller. He departed this life August 27, 2015. “Shorty” attended Flint Community Schools. He was a member of House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, where Eld. Kenneth L. Stewart is the pastor. “Shorty” was employed at the Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan. He enjoyed cooking, dancing, and most of all family gatherings. He leaves to cherish his memories: 2 devoted brothers, Vernon Miller and Leon (Willie Mae) Miller, Sr.; 4 sisters, Bessie J. Brown of Flint, Mattie Young of Chicago, IL, Lallie Marshall and Delores Kennedy, both of Evanston, IL; 2 sisters-in-law, Beverly Miller of Kansas, MO and Rita L. Miller of Fort Worth, TX; nieces and nephews, Jacqueline Westbrooks, Craig Rawls, Jeffery (Karenise) Westbrooks, Darnell (Valarie) Westbrooks, Joseph (Margaret) Brown, Leon A. Miller Jr., Melody Centers, Vernon Miller Jr., Lisha Miller, Deonca Miller, Anthony Fleming, Kelly Miller, Jozet Miller, Tia Miller, Trent Jackson and Cortez Bailey, all of Flint; 3 special god children, Michael Boyland, (Sharonda Glover) and Antoine Boyland; 2 god grandchildren, Shaniyah Boyland and Dontavius Shelton; a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Benonia and Clara Miller; 4 brothers, Joe, Glen (Gladys), Jessie and Duane Miller; sister, Bettie Westbrooks; niece, Shalon Miller; nephews, Darryl and Jerry Brown; and sister-in-law, Ruth Miller.
