Mr. L.V. "Lil Baby" Redwine

REDWINE, Mr. L.V. "Lil Baby" - Age 75, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Redwine will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Friday, with family present from 4-8 p.m. Mr. L.V. “Lil Baby” Redwine was born November 5, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of George and Thelma (Walton) Redwine. He was the youngest of 10 children; all of his siblings preceded him in death, except for one brother, Willie Lee. “Lil Baby” attended Wenonah High School in Birmingham before relocating to Flint and becoming employed by General Motors before retiring from Chevrolet Metal Fabricating in 1991 after 25 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #659. He had many talents including building and remodeling homes; so did all his brothers. “Lil Baby” would give you the shirt of his back if you need it; he was a giver and asked for nothing in return. “Lil Baby” loved family gatherings and he was one of the “World Class Barbequer of the family”; he loved all his family and friends including the St. John Street families. His hobbies included playing cards, shooting pool, gardening and hunting. Most of all he loved fishing. The day he passed, “Lil Baby” had just left the fish bank.” He leaves to cherish his memory: 4 daughters, Sherise Darnell Redwine, Shelia Denise McCombs, Lisa Michelle McCombs, all of Flint and Monica Monique Redwine of Flushing, MI; grandchildren, Jasmine, Tawana, Simone, Alicia (Charles), Ameera, Carlye, Kentisa, Kendrea, LeMail (Becky), Kareem, Tavis, Joey II, Jerry “Darnell” and Joey III; great-grandchildren, Darrius, Darnell, Jayonna, Ceonna, Christian, Chianne, Coreasha; brother, Willie Lee Redwine of Flint; sisters-in-law, Virginia Redwine of Flint, Thelma Redwine of Birmingham, AL and Betty Redwine of Flint; brother-in-law, James Belk of Flint; a host of nieces including special niece, Evelyn; a host of nephews including great nephew, William “Terrance” Redwine; a host of cousins including special cousins, cousin like a nephew and fishing buddy, Myron (Kathy) Roper, Mary Ann (Napoleon) Demps, Jr., of Flint, Katie Mae Perry, Ocie Lee (Carol) Walton and; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Redwine was preceded in death by wife, Brenda Redwine; daughter, Sheila Denise; sons, Kenneth Eugene and Earnest Redwine; granddaughter, LaSondra “Puddy Cat”; parents; grandparents; 2 sisters, Ruby and Georgia Mae; 8 brothers, Willie B., Eleazer, Mack B., James E. “Slim”, Robert “Rank” and his twin L.C. “Big Baby”; former wife, Lillian Mae McMillion; mother of Sheila and Lisa, Beverly McCombs; special nephews, Mack “Punkin” and Jimmy Redwine; cousins, Arthur Roper, Earnest “Pistol” Gordon and James Hyman. The family would like to express special thanks to the staffs of Davita Dialysis, Dr. Polina Benkenshtadt, Dr. Trager and staff, Dennis Wallace and the McLaren Cancer Institute, Mr. Mangney and staff, Gail Morgan and the Genesys Gerontology Center, Your Ride, Loving Hands, Pastor Rodney Ellison and the Mt.
