HUGHES, Ms. Kimberly KenYonn - Age 27, passed away, Thursday, July 6, 2006 at her residence. Family hour 11AM Friday, July 14, 2006 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 2109 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:30AM. Pastor H.B. Dixson officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Friday. Ms. Hughes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Ms. Kimberly KenYonn Hughes was born November 26, 1978 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Jimmie E. Hughes and Bruce A. Hughes. She united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. After moving to Wayne Michigan, Kimberly joined with the Cornerstone Metro Church under the leadership of Pastor Larry Mack, where she served as one of the instructors in the dance ministry. Kimberly attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Flint Northwestern High School "Class of 1996". During her high school years, she was very active in various activities and organizations. She was also involved with the People to People organization, traveling to Australia. Kimberly attended Central Michigan University pledging, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, while graduating August 2001 and was to complete her masters degree study from Central Michigan University in August of 2006. Kimberly was employed by the Raytheon Company as a Site Lead in Ann Arbor, MI. Ms. Kimberly KenYonn Hughes leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Jimmie E. Hughes of Flint; father, Bruce A. (Tisha) Hughes of Okemos, MI; grandmother, Christine Hughes; sister, Danette D. Hughes; niece, Zy'Aira Strodder; 2 nephews, Shrondrey Hughes, Malikk Strodder; 3 aunts, Beth Franklin, Dennis (Linda) Rushing, Lee (Constance) Hopkins, all of Flint; great-aunt, Evelyn Wolfe of Detroit, MI; great-great-aunt, Ethel Heller of Flint; 5 uncles, Hubert, Michael, Robert, Gary Hughes, Robert (Vernice) Williams, Sr., all of Flint; many cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Zeta Rho Chapter. Ms. Kimberly KenYonn Hughes was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joseph (Anna Mae) Lawson, Hubert M. Hughes, Sr.; aunts, JoAnne, Glenda Lawson, Alberta Carson; great-great-aunt, Henrietta Skinner; uncles, Edward and Erskin Wolfe, Henry Lawson.
