PEOPLES, Mr. Kevin James - Age 57, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Metro Health - University of Michigan, Wyoming, MI. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, September 28, 2019 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble at the Chapel 1:30 PM Saturday. Mr. Peoples will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, September 27, 2019. Mr. Kevin James Peoples was born on January 21, 1962 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Edward and Mary Magdalene Peoples. Kevin was a good son, who was nurtured and well loved. He was raised in the fear and admonition of the Lord, where he and his family attended Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. He was a happy and energetic child. Kevin received his primary education with the Flint Community School System. He graduated and received his high school Diploma from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1980.” Kevin later attended Truck Driving School to obtain a CDL with aspirations of becoming a Truck Driver. Kevin was a giving and kindhearted person. He was the father of 2 children whom he loved despite the distance that separated them. Kevin really enjoyed cooking and watching television; especially Western’s. He was very sociable and loved talking on the telephone. Kevin often made frequent calls to connect with his family and old friends for great conversations and a good laugh. During the final years of his life, Kevin lived in Kentwood, MI (near Grand Rapids) where he was in a committed relationship with Ms. Maria Cordova for over 5 years. Mr. Kevin James Peoples leaves to cherish his memory: son, Mr. Justin McCray of Glendale, AZ; daughter, Ms. Kathy Peoples of Las Vegas, NV; 2 grandchildren, Malik McCray and MacKenzie McCray, both of Glendale, AZ; sister, Mrs. Arnenia M. Odum of Burton, MI; brother, Mr. Carl Parker of Flint; grandmother, Ms. Estella Price of Burton, MI; aunts, Allean Kemp, Fannie Price, both of Flint and Claudy Price of Verbena, AL; uncle, Mr. Robert (Annie) Peoples of Flint; nieces, Ebony Peoples (Javan) Wordlaw of Sandy Springs, GA and Lushica Kia Parker Campbell of Las Vegas, NV; nephews, Brandon Odum of Flint and Blake (Olivia) Odum of Greensboro, NC; great-nephew, Sebastian Wordlaw of Sandy Springs, GA; god-sister, Katrina Bolton; god-brother, Guy Andrew; special companion, Ms. Maria Cordova of Kentwood, MI; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Peoples was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Magdalene Peoples; father, James Edward Peoples; grandparents, Robert Price, Robert and Daisy (Hicks) Peoples; uncle, Charles Green and aunt, Annie Green (second parents); uncle, Moses Price.
