TURNER, Mr. Kenneth Edwin (Monroe) - Age 40, departed this life Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at St. Vincent Hospital in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Family hour 1:30PM Thursday, January 10, 2008 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2PM. Rev. Otis Wiley, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Thursday. Mr. Turner will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home., and may be viewed from 8AM until funeral service Thursday. Kenneth was born February 2, 1967 in New Haven, Connecticut. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, MI. He attended Flint Public Schools and graduated from Northwestern High School "Class of 1986". Kenneth attended Savannah State University and Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT. He was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT as an electrician. Kenneth leaves to cherish his memories: parents, Patricia (Jim) Franklin of Mt. Morris and Kenneth Monroe, Sr. of Savannah, GA; grandparents, Elizabeth Ward of Waterbury, CT, Arthur (Shirley) Turner of Oakwood Village, OH; brothers, Jimmy (Alicia) Reed of Flint, Andre Franklin of Mt. Morris, Danielle Monroe of Savannah, GA and Alexis Franklin of Mt. Morris; 8 aunts, Dorothy Monroe of Savannah, GA, Emma Miller of Mt. Gillead, NC, Valerie (Mizell) Stewart of Evansville, IN, Alice (William) Saines, Emma (Theodore) Wiley, Susie George, Cinda (Leon) Anderson, all of Flint and Juanita Bellamy of Raleigh Durham, NC; 3 uncles, Oliver Ward of Rocky Hill, CT, Peter (Meeko) Ward of Waterbury, CT and Brian Ward of New Haven, CT; 3 nephews, Andreious and Javious Reed both of Flint and special nephew and best pal, Jordan Franklin of Mt. Morris, MI; niece, Aleah Reed of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Malena, Valetta and Omarion Wilson, Leslyn Smith, Helene Petrie and Cathy "B", all of Bridgeport, CT. Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert (Alberta) Monroe, Sr.; aunt, Margaret Paige Naylor; uncles, Robert Monroe, Jr., and Paul Turner.
