Mr. Kenneth Miller-El

MILLER-El, Mr. Kenneth - age 63, passed away, Thursday, March 14, 2024 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, March 30, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Grand Sheik Minister Omar Brown-El, officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 1:30 PM Saturday. Mr. Miller-El will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Friday, March 29, 2024, from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Mr. Kenneth Miller-El was born September 18, 1960 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Dorothy Pressley and Carnell Lewellen. Kenneth lived in Flint and surrounding areas his entire life. Graduated from Flint Northwestern High School in 1978. He enlisted in the United States Army after high school. Kenneth was a member of the Moorish Science Temple of America since the late 90’s. He was employed at several factories during his lifetime; but his most beloved position was a Teacher/Mentor at the Amistad Program through Career Alliance where he worked with “At-Risk Children in a school setting which helped them become better students and productive citizens; while teaching them life skills that they would need in adulthood. Kenneth loved his students and was well respected. He and his wife took vows on July 22, 2006 and remained committed until his passing. Kenneth loved sports, going to different casino’s, listening to Jazz / R&B and singing, reading lessons from the Holy Koran. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Kenneth was a beautiful soul, with a heart of Gold. A true family man and all around good person. To know him was to love him. Mr. Kenneth Miller-El leaves to cherish his memory: wife, G. Annette Miller-El of Flint; daughter, Jacquel (D’myron) of Columbus, OH; son, Davaunqa (CED) of Detroit, MI; 5 grandchildren, Sharae (Juddah), Christopher, Aniya, Charli Rose and Aireonna, all of Columbus, OH; 5 sisters, Kimberly (Larry) Sykes, Katherine Woodard-Hanley, Linda Miller, Jacqueline Woodard (Mike) and Jennifer (Craig) Williams; brother, Jeffrey (Miko) Woodard; 11 nieces, Temika, Tasha, Tanisha, Hannah, Lanee, Rochonda, Porsha, Milan, Terianna, Adrian and Paris; 7 nephews, Marvin, Dreecie, Ritchie, Martinez, Martez, Joshua and Ethan; great-niece, Laniya; 5 great-nephews, Larry, Treylan, Kedreece, Edreece and Dreecie Jr.; 2 great-great-nieces, Jahnae and Madison; 2 great-great-nephews, Karsen and Sye; uncle, Rudy (Alice) Gibson of Flint; a host of cousins; mother-in-law, Christine Dudley of Augusta, GA; 2 sisters-in-law, Robbiestine Edwards of Fayetteville, NC and Crystal Abney of Augusta, GA; 2 brothers-in-law, Perry Davis of North Augusta, SC and Christopher Abney of Las Vegas, NV; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Ludille Barton, Hubert, André G, O.P. Holley, Greg Tolbert-Bey, Robert Earl Cheatom, Van and Craig Johnson. Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Leroy) Pressley; father, Carnell Lewellen; grandparents, Essie and Fred Smith; uncles, Charles Smith and Willie Frazier; niece, Tekila Miller; and brother, Marvin Woodard.
