SWEENEY, Mr. Keith A. - Age 66, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Regency of Grand Blanc. Family hour 1:30 PM Monday, February 24, 2025 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM, Pastor Jacquez Hicks-Sweeney, officiating. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, G-3145 Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 1:30 PM Monday. Mr. Sweeney will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM Sunday. Keith Alan Sweeney passed away in the early hours on February 13, 2025 at Regency of Grand Blanc. Keith was born on November 29, 1958 in St. Louis, MO. to the late Webster and Ernestine Sweeney. He retired from AC Spark Plug/Delphi, a division of General Motors Corporation after serving 30 years. Following retirement, Keith enjoyed living life and as he would say “doing whatever it was he wanted, when he wanted.” Keith was a devoted son, father, brother, PawPaw, uncle, nephew lover and friend known for his unwavering optimism and selflessness. Whether through simple acts of kindness or a deep commitment to those he loved, He was a shining example of putting others before himself. He truly embodied the importance of family, hard work, and always showing up for those he loved. Keith was an avid videographer. Was sure to always have the camera within reach to capture all of the precious moments! He lived his life without complaint, always approaching challenges with a smile and open heart. He showed everyone the power of a positive outlook. He left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Keith Alan Sweeney leaves to cherish his precious memories: his significant other, Sandra Vaughn; 6 children, Karee Sweeney of Atlanta, GA, Tamika Watson and Keith Sweeney II, both of Memphis, TN, Kedria (DeMario) Watson and Perris Sweeney, both of Dallas, TX, and Sharene Williams of Flint, MI; 17 grandchildren, Jeremiah Cain, Kajzah Cain, Jazmyne Sweeney and Jada Sweeney, all of Atlanta, GA, Kshawn Williams of Houston, TX, Khelan Sweeney and Karter Qualls, both of Dallas, TX, Levondrick Carter of Philadelphia, MS, Keundria Gully, Kemarion Gully, Roderick Boyd Jr., Katerina Potts, Kyrin Sweeney, Kason Sweeney, Kahari Sweeney, and Ermias Sweeney, all of Memphis, TN, and Keriyunia Holloway of Nashville, TN; 4 great-grandchildren, Kaylee Carter, Major Carter, Sa’Khani Hart, and Kennedy Gully; 3 sisters, Sherry Sweeney of Flint, Peggy Sweeney of Dallas, TX, and Debra Belin of Wichita, KS; 2 brothers, Gary (Belinda) Sweeney and Jeffrey Sweeney, both of Flint, MI; aunt, Javita Hooks of Madison, IL; uncles, Donald (Donna) Laddy of Love Joy, IL, Jerome (Earline) Harris of Shiloh, IL and Jacob Paragon of Jacksonville, FL; 8 nieces, Tichanti (Justin) Blackwell, Mandy (Rod) Sweeney, Andrea Sweeney, Bianca (Frankie) Ayers, Nicole Kelly, Patricia Williams, Danaya Geter, and Danielle Belin; 12 nephews, Koran (Samantha) Aamin, Deonte Sturtevant, Devonte’ Sweeney, Demani Sweeney, Jeffrey Sweeney Jr, Webster Hicks-Sweeney, Jacquez (Tenisia) Hicks-Sweeney, Rance Jermal, Bryan Jones, Jason Dudley, Darryl Geter Jr, and Darrichio Stewart; a special mother-in-love, Mrs. Katie Vaughn; and a host of relatives and friends.
