Mr. Keith Tyrone Riggs

RIGGS, Mr. Keith Tyrone - Age 64, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015 at his residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Marvin A. Jennings, Sr. Host Pastor. Bishop Leroy Hampton, officiating. Interment Crestwood Community Cemetery, 2020 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Riggs will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1 p.m. - 8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Keith Tyrone Riggs was born June 7, 1951 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Gwendolyn Riggs. He was a resident of Flint his entire life. Keith attended Flint Public Schools including Flint Northwestern High School. He was employed in the tire business for many years including Jerry’s Tires where he retired from in 2015. Keith loved playing Chess, watching football and his job. He was a self-taught Computer Wiz. Keith enjoyed building things with wood. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his children, grandchildren and his dogs. Mr. Keith Tyrone Riggs leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife of 41 years, Glory D. Riggs; daughter, Yvonne Redwine; 3 sons, Michael (Kienya) Thomas, Waymond Thomas and Brian Thomas, Sr.; 11 grandchildren, Monteca, Coreyonté, Christopher, Rashona, Erica, Brittany, Tevin, Keith, DeMeka, Brian Jr. and Va’Aisa; 8 great-grandchildren; mentor and father figure, Mr. Wilbur “PaPa” (Cynthia) Jarrett; 3 sisters, Ina Jean Jones, Irma C. Riggs, all of Flint and Donna A. Childress of Tennessee; brother, Stanley D. (Janice) Riggs of Flint; a host of nieces and nephews; aunt, Mrs. Beulah Meekins of Flint; cousin, Janice Carter of Las Vegas, NV; 5 sisters-in-law; 5 brothers-in-law; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, employee of Jerry’s Tires, Mark, Ray, Bill, Tom, Thomas and Billy. Mr. Riggs was preceded in death by his grandson; mother, Gwendolyn Riggs; grandparents, Robert and Ruth Riggs; sister, Sharon J. Riggs; 3 brothers, Eugene “Toodle” Riggs, W. Arnold Riggs and Carliss M. Riggs; 2 aunts; mother and father-in-law; daughter-in-law; son-in-law; 2 brothers-in-law. The family would like to express special thanks to Mr. Lawrence E.
