Mr. Karim Gibbs

GIBBS, Mr. Karim - Age 43, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023. Family hour 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM. Mr. Gibbs will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM Monday. Mr. Karim A. Gibbs Sr. was born September 13, 1979 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Sharon Gibbs Flournoy. Karim was a resident of Flint Twp., Michigan. He attended Robert L. Osbourne High School in Marietta, GA. He obtained a Certificate in Heating and Cooling. Karim was a 10 plus year employee of Coca Cola Bottling in Flint. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing Dominos, basketball, soccer and his lottery. Karim always had a catch phrase for everyone. To Karim there wasn't a difference between family and friends everyone was family to him. He had a smile that could light up a room and he was very well loved. Mr. Karim A. Gibbs Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: 3 sons, Karim A. Gibbs Jr. of Pontiac, MI, Amir Gibbs of Grand Blanc, MI and Kourdon Gibbs of Davison, MI; mother, Sharon Gibbs Flournoy of Papillion, NE; 3 brothers, Vincent L. (Jennifer) Pounds Jr. of Swartz Creek, MI, Rocrickius D. (Rebekah) Gibbs Sr. of Grand Blanc, MI and Antwan Flourney of Papillion, NE; 2 niece, Kayla Volz and Gabrielle Gibbs, both of Grand Blanc, MI, 6 nephews, Vincent L. Pounds III, Izek Pounds, Trenton Anderson, all of Swartz Creek, MI, Rocrickius D. Gibbs Jr., Isaiah Gibbs, both of Grand Blanc, MI and Antwan Flournoy Jr. of Papillion, NC; 6 aunts, Arnette Bennett of Victorville, CA, Martha Eastlan of Mt. Morris, MI, Margaret Simmons of Omaha, NE, Patricia (Kenneth) Altheimer of Flint, Gwendolyn Hall of Pine Bluff, AR, Christmas Gibbs of Burton, MI and special aunt, Mary Pounds of Flint, MI; 2 uncles, James M. Hall of Pine Bluff, AR and James L. (Aletha) Gibbs of Victorville, CA; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, McKinley Flournoy (supporting father), Tyrone Babbit (special brother), Tannette Stewart (special sister) and Keith Bolds (special friend).Mr. Gibbs was preceded in death by his grandparents, James E. Gibbs and Winnie B. Gibbs; aunt, Edie M. Smith; uncle, Carlton B. Gibbs; special pops, Vincent L. Pounds Sr. (special brother); brother, Tarrel Pounds Sr.; and other great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
