YARBROUGH, Mrs. June O. - Age 94, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Yarbrough will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. to receive friends. Mrs. June Othello “Dear” (Neal) Yarbrough was born December 21, 1921 in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Edward and Catherine (Johnson) Neal. She attended Flint Public School System. “Dear” as she was more affectionately called, gave her life to Christ at a young age. She was an active and dedicated member of House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Charlie Thrower, for many years. June married Joseph Samuel Yarbrough, and the couple spent 35 years together. She was employed with General Motors, retiring after 35 years of service. June will be remembered as the kindest, most gentle, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and mother-in-law, who was always encouraging to respect others and yourselves. She showed unconditional love to everyone and frequently welcomed people into her home to share a meal and good conversation. June was a generous and caring individual who loved Christ and was passionate about serving God and others. Mrs. June Othello “Dear” (Neal) Yarbrough leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Zoreen Houston of Flint and Brenda Yarbrough-Jones of Lancaster, CA; sons, Alton Yarbrough of Flint and Grayling (Markeda) Yarbrough of Lexington, KY; sister, Margaret McMullen of Flint; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Yarbrough was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelly R. Simpson; sons, Wrona, Joseph and Trevor Yarbrough all of Flint; former husband, Joseph Samuel Yarbrough; sisters, Catherine D. Hamilton, Mae I. Neal; brothers, Frank and Edward P. Neal all of Flint; and uncle, Lincoln Jackson of Lawrence, KS. The family would like to express a special thanks to the Alford, Woodson and Yarbrough families, and Sonia Walker.
