Mrs. Joyce Annette Goss

GOSS, Mrs. Joyce - Age 60, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at Henry Ford Hospital. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, December 10, 2018 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor John McKinney, officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:00 AM Monday. Mrs. Goss will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM Sunday. Mrs. Joyce Annette (Otis) Goss was born June 7, 1958, in Prentiss, Mississippi, the last of 12 children born to Rev. Clyde L. and Mary (Smith) Otis. She left Prentiss, MS at an early age and moved with the family to East Chicago, IN and later to Flint, Michigan. Joyce attended Flint Community Schools and graduated from Flint Central High School. She went on to become a Paralegal and was a Master Hairweaving Specialist. Joyce loved to look great. Joyce enjoyed cooking for her family and hosting family gatherings made her smile. She helped everyone that she loved and made each and everyone of them feel special and loved in every way. Joyce was always there for family always. She met Jimmy Goss at a young age and they later married and from this union 2 daughters were born, Temiko (Damoni) and Shervon (Antonio). Joyce attended New Life Ministries Church. Mrs. Joyce Annette Goss leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Jimmy Goss; 2 daughters, Temiko (Damoni) Goss –Gibson of Houston, TX and Shervon (Antonio) Goss-McElroy; 4 grandsons, Antonio McElroy Jr., A’vonte McElroy, both of Flint, Kei’moni Gibson and Damoni Gibson Jr., both of Houston; 4 sisters, Mary Margaret Williams of Mt. Morris, MI, Delories Otis-Faucett of Genesee, MI, Evone Otis-Townsend and Clydell (Rev. John) McKenney, all of Mt. Morris, MI; brother, Jessie R. Otis of Flint; a host of 70 nieces including special nieces, Lendra Brown, Crystal Lang-Stubbs, Stacie Otis, LaTrice Williams and Dawn Renee’ Otis; 75 nephews including special nephew including special nephews, Gregory Otis, Willie Otis and Steve Callahan Jr.; 5 sisters-in-law, Willie Ruth Oben of Houston, TX, Emma Goss of Louisville, MS, Maxine Goss-Talley of Jackson, MS, Lourdes Otis of Englewood, CA and Lindy Boyd-Otis of Flint; 2 brothers-in-law, William Pete Talley of Jackson, MS and Rev. John McKenney Sr. of Mt. Morris, MI; special friends, Katie Bell-Slaughter, Rick and Patricia Scott and a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Goss was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Otis; father, Rev. Clyde Otis; sisters, Shirley and Dorothy Otis; brothers, Lionel, Lavern, Walter and Louis Otis; nieces, Letha and Anna; nephews, Terry, Andre, Frank, Trent and Walter Jr.; sister-in-law, Willie Doris Callahan; and mother-in-law, Mattie Bell Goss-Ashford.
