WELLS, Mr. Jovaun - Age 21, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Friday, September 25, 2009 at Full Gospel Christian Church., 5901 M.L. King Ave., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM, Rev. Garfield Hardy officiating, Pastor James Wheeler, Host Pastor. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Friday. Mr. Wells will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Mr. Jovaun Charles Pleas Wells was born February 16, 1988 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Kristine Wells Haralson and Joseph Brand. Jovaun was a resident of Flint and attended Christ Combination Mission Church. He also attended Northern High School and recently enrolled at Mott Community College Engineering Program. Jovaun loved basketball and music. He also enjoyed spending time with his daughter, SaNiya and his sisters and brothers. Mr. Jovaun Charles Pleas Wells leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, SaNiya Wells; parents, Kristine (Stacy) Runnels and Joseph Brand; step father, Ernest Lamar; grandparents, Freda (B.C.) Cooper, Stella Lamar, Ella (Andrew) Brown, Charles Wells and Irene Runnels of Smackover, AR; 3 sisters, Krystal, Dushonn and Shatara; 5 brothers, Ernest, Stacey, Stashaun, Devin and Deandree, all of Flint; 10 aunts, Selester Barber of Ft. Worth, TX,, Lorraine Haralson, Patricia Patrick, Victory Brand, Wenshia Brand, Gloria Burkes, Leda Turner, Wendy (Herbert) Colen, Yolanda Lamar, all of Flint and Carla James of Smackover, AR; 4 great aunts, Anna Hutson, Martha Davis, Yvonne Turner and Tracy Hopson; 5 uncles, David, Jeffrey, Omar, Jabbar and Ira (Klaudia ) Brand; 2 great-uncles, Fred and Clark Hutson; a host of cousins, including, special cousins, LeAndree, Christina and Cortez; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, ShaTavia, Cruz, Derrick, Mia, Keno, Ed and many more. Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his grandfather, Joseph Brand, Sr.; great-grandmother, Ruby Wells; great-grandfather, Pleas Hutson; and cousin, Fred Hutson, Jr. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center, Dr. James Wheeler and the Full Gospel Christian Church and Rev.
