TAYLOR, Mrs. Josephine - Age 80, passed away Monday, June 8, 2015 at Melody Gardens Care Home. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing in 11 a.m. Bishop Raymond H. Dunlap, Sr. officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Taylor will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Josephine Taylor was born August 30, 1934 in Inverness, Mississippi the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Joe and Leola (Candia) Taylor. A longtime resident of Flint, MI, she was a member at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Josephine was employed with Fisher Body, a division of General Motors, retiring after 32 years and was also a member of the UAW Local 326. She avidly volunteered at various Health Care Auxiliaries. When she wasn’t volunteering, Josephine could be found tending to her gardens, sewing, cooking or she was off traveling. Mrs. Josephine Taylor leaves to cherish her memories with her 2 daughters, Auspria L. Walton of Swartz Creek, MI and Brenda R. Byas of Ypsilanti, MI; grandchildren, Arelillian R. Taylor of Flint; great-grandchildren, Siedah J. Munerlyn of Arlington, TX; 3 sisters, Carrie Walker of Chicago, IL. DyAnn Taylor of Killeen, TX, and Ellen Taylor-McCune of Jackson, MS; nephew, Tony Emerson of Killeen, TX; sister-in-law, Irene Hall of Natchez, MS; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Erma bell, Cora Harden, Evelyn Ward, Geraldine Reeves, Debrah & Edwin Osborn and Mother Carolyn Hudson. Mrs. Josephine Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Joe and Leola Taylor; 2 sisters, Sarah Brent and Katherine Taylor-Hall; 2 brothers, Joe Taylor, Jr. and Richard Taylor; grandchildren, Centoria J. and Karon H. Byas; and the father of her children, Carl H. Taylor. The family would like to express special thanks to Heartland Home Care & Hospice, Melody Gardens Adult Care, Bishop Raymond H. Dunlap, the Eliezer Church-Apostolic Faith, Elder James Mills, Mother Carolyn Hudson, Honorary Pallbearers and active pallbearers.
