Mrs. Josephine Sharp

SHARP, Mrs. Josephine - Age 73, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 in Clio MI. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, August 19, 2019 at Second Chance Church, 2070 W. Coldwater Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor Derrick Aldridge, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the chapel 10:30 AM Monday. Mrs. Sharp will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday. Mrs. Josephine Sharp was born July 21, 1946 in Ludlow, Mississippi the daughter of D.P. and Bertha (Butler) Anderson. She attended Flint Central High School. Josephine accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. Josephine was a member of Truelight M.B.C. where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also spoke and taught and spoke at many different churches in the City of Flint. She was employed at Lafayette Nursing Home and St. Joseph Hospital. She would later go on to work for General Motors Corporation where she would retire from. In her early years Josephine was an active participant of the Beecher Men’s Club and Ladies Auxiliary. She was active in sports and served as the Basketball Coach at Messer Elementary School, of the Beecher School District. Josephine loved to read, bake, garden, shop, travel and teach the Word of God. She loved to laugh, whether she made the joke or not. Her favorite T.V. show was Law & Order. Most importantly, Josephine loved spending time with her family and her husband of 47 years, Clark Sharp. Mrs. Josephine Sharp leaves to cherish her memory: 5 daughters, Charlene Collins, Kim Sharp, Sonya Sharp-Parks, Casandra Sharp and Cymmesha Sharp, all of Flint; grandchildren, Nkechi Collins of Spring Hill, TN, special granddaughter, NKela Collins of Charlotte, NC, KéAira Sharp, Josiah Sharp, Jakaila Sharp, Rayshelle Simmons and DéAmber Sharp, all of Flint; great grandchildren, Allen Carr III, Neveh Brown, Ceyana Brown and Robert Valentine III; mother, Bertha Denson; sisters, Bertha Lean White, Rhodean (Chris) Johnson and Veronica Smith; brother, Leroy (Brenda) Denson of Flint; 2 nephews, Justin (Latonya) Phillips of Milton, FL and John Paul Phillips of Austin, TX, aunts, Lavern White of Jackson, MS Winnie Kincaid of Ludlow, MS, Luretha Schaffer and Kelly “Charlie” Denson both of Gary, IN; sister-in-law, Joan Anderson of Gary, IN; a host of other relatives and friends, including special friends, Martha Buckley, Johnnie Rawls, Carol Baker, Gertrude Clemons and Cynthia Walker; special family members, Alvin Lee of Texas and Oceola Watson. Mrs. Sharp was preceded in death by husband, Clark Sharp; grandson, Robert Valentine and father, D.P. Anderson.
