SINGLETON Jr., Mr. Joseph Aster - Age 61, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, November 2, 2018 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AM Friday. Mr. Singleton will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday. Mr. Joseph Singleton, Jr. was born May 12, 1957 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, the son of the late Joseph and Gladys (Stovall) Singleton. He graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Joseph loved music, fishing, working on his van, watching old TV shows, such as Sanford & Son, and westerns. He loved interacting with his grandchildren, Timothy, Jr., Christi, Ari, Bri, PJ, Jalisa, and India. Joseph was an avid lover of cars and enjoyed working on them. He found great pleasure in fixing things around the house. Joseph loved his dog, Sydney and he loved to joke and laugh. Mr. Joseph Singleton, Jr. leaves to cherish his precious memories: loving wife, Ethel Burnett; 5 daughters, Gladys (DeMarcus) Greely of Benton Harbor, MI, Callie (Peter) Russell of Oceanside, CA, Tanya Seahorn, Sha’Mara (Timothy) Scales and Tiffany Singleton; 3 sons, Turque (Shatoyia) Seahorn, Demetrius Palmer and Joseph (Mattie) Seahorn III, all of Flint; 22 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Louise Singleton of Grand Rapids, MI and Lessie Singleton of Benton Harbor, MI; 3 brothers, Jeremy Singleton of New York, James Singleton of Phoenix, AZ and Ira Singleton of Detroit, MI; sisters-in-law, Diane Ray, Macy (Willie) Boone and Denise Brooks; brothers-in-law, Bobbie (Callie) Burnett, Elmer Burnett, Fred (Cassandra) Burnett and Jerry Ray; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Anthony Cager, Mike Cager and Bemac. Mr. Singleton was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph & Gladys Singleton; best friends, Tarrant Underwood and Andre Redwine; great-granddaughter, Zen’Daya; sister-in-law, Beatrice Flowers; brothers-in-law, Asa Lee Burnett.
