Mr. Joseph Mosley Jr.

MOSLEY, Mr. Joseph Jr. - Age 78, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Landings of Grand Blanc. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, September 6, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Elder Printiss Spight Sr., officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Friday. Mr. Mosley will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, with family present to receive friends from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. Joseph “Joe” Mosley Jr. was born October 1, 1945 in Bryan, Texas, the last son of Joseph and Annie Mae ( Childs) Mosley. He moved to Flint, Michigan in 1964. Once in Flint, Joe began working at Summerfield Chevrolet, Winchester Hospital and ultimately working at Buick City, a division of General Motors Corporation (GM). He retired from GM in 2000. He gave his life to Christ at an early age in Bryan, Texas. Joe was a member at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He received a Master Gardner Certification from University of Michigan-Flint. Joe was affectionately known as “The Greens Man” and was passionate about organic gardening. Mr. Joseph “Joe” Mosley Jr. leaves to cherish in his memory: devoted wife of 56 years, Mary Jane (Releford) Mosley; daughter, Kimberly Ann (Mosley) Caldwell; son-in-law, William D. Caldwell; grandson, Jordan J. Mosley; granddaughter, Ashley L. Caldwell; great-granddaughter, Siya N. Johnson; great-grandson, William L. Fisher, all of Flint, MI; sisters-in-law, Rita ( Terry) Roberson of Nevada and LaGail Biggs; brother-in-law Lewis (Velda) Releford of Arkansas; a host of nieces nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Al Bragg and Charles Harris. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Joseph B. Mosley; parents, Joseph Sr and Annie May ( Childs) Mosley; grandparents, Charlie and Alice ( Bell) Mosley; sisters, Gladys Mosley, Inez Mosley, Betty (Mosley) Burns, Gloria Robinson and Barbara Carter; brothers, Bennie G. Mosley and Willie Mosley.
