FRANKLIN, Mr. Johnny - Age 75, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2026 in Flushing, MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, August 17, 2026, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Pastor James Bowie, Jr., Officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and family will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Monday. Mr. Franklin will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Sunday. Johnny Franklin was born on December 24, 1950, in Warren, Arkansas, to the late James Eddie and Dollie Mae Franklin. He was the fourth of eight children. Johnny graduated from Warren High School in Warren, Arkansas, in 1969. Shortly after graduating, he proudly joined the United States Air Force, where he served his country for four years. After completing his military service, Johnny relocated to Flint, Michigan, where he began a long and dedicated career with Buick, Local #599. He faithfully worked for 34 years before retiring. Johnny was a hardworking and independent man who enjoyed staying active. In his free time, he loved working out, taking walks, playing the guitar, listening to music, and experiencing different restaurants and good food. He loved lighting fireworks with the kids on the 4th of July. He cherished the simple pleasures of life and the time spent with family and loved ones. Johnny Franklin leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter, Altee Louise Price McMillian of Delaware; sister, Joyce Martin; brothers, Willie (Silesia) Franklin, all of Flint, Michigan and Timothy (Tracey) Franklin of Little Rock, Arkansas; nephew, Keith (Tracey) Powell of Flint, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, James Eddie and Dollie Mae Franklin; and siblings, Earlie Mae Jones, Stella Franklin, David Leonard Franklin, and Gladys Yvonne Jones. Johnny Franklin leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, hard work, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. May he rest peacefully and forever be remembered.
