SCOTT, Mrs. Johnnie "Rose" - Age 62, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Heritage Manor. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Mrs. Scott will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Johnnie “Rose” Scott was born November 15, 1948 in Philadelphia, Mississippi, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Josephine (Trussell) Rush, Jr. Johnnie was a graduate of George Washington Carver in Philadelphia, MS. Due to employment she relocated to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she was employed as a truck driver until her health began to fail. In 2009, she retired and relocated to Flint. Johnnie was a frequent visitor at Grace of God Ministries. She enjoyed walking, watching television, reading, dancing and listening to music. Johnnie also enjoyed talking and had a love for sewing and cooking. She leaves to cherish her memory: 3 sisters, Josie Dawkins of Jacksonville, FL, Justine Seales of Flushing, MI and Edna Young of Flint; 7 nieces, Josephine Rush of Fort Wayne, IN, Gloria (Alvin) Spearsman, Lesia (Lewis) Barber, Tabitha and Katrina Collier, Sha’Rayle Young, Annette Seales and special niece, Josephine Rush, all of Flint; 4 nephews, Joe Clemons of Lansing, MI, James Seales of Jackson, MI, Ken Collier and Yori McCoy Collier; aunt, Jannie (Rush) Peoples of Chicago, IL; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Rose Hall. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell Scott; parents, Richard and Josephine Rush, Jr.; grandparents, Richard Rush, Sr. and Corine Payne; sisters, Martha Collier and Helen Clemons; brother, Malcolm Rush; niece, Melissa Callahan; nephew, Richard Clemons; aunt, Annie Seales; uncles, Willie Seales, Simon “Buddy” Rush, Johnny “Jake” Rush, Billy Rush, and J.C. Peoples; and sister-in-law, Shirley Rush; brother-in-law, James Seales. The family would like to express special thanks to Avalon Hospice, and Hertiage Manor staff.
