McNeil, Mrs. Johnnie Lee - Age 93, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, at her residence. Family hour 1:30 PM Monday, August 5, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM Pastor Fredercik Flowers, officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Monday. Mrs. McNeil will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sunday with family present from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM to receive friends. Johnnie Lee McNeil, the daughter of John Henry Floore and Mable Nora Floore, was born on December 22, 1930 in Laurel, Mississippi. She attended Oak Park School, where she was an active member of the Choir and Pep Squad and was a nominee for Miss Oak Park. Johnnie worked as a domestic worker in New York City and Chicago, Illinois, before retiring from McLaren Hospital in Flint, Michigan. She married Ceaser McNeil in February 1968 in Flint and they shared a beautiful life together. A devoted member of the Promise Tabernacle Church family, Johnnie was dedicated to her work in the neighborhood services program and served faithfully on the Mother’s Board. Johnnie Lee McNeil leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Ceaser McNeil; children, Gregory Chandler of Battle Creek, Michigan, Renẽe Bell of Flint, Michigan, and Wilfred McNeil of Chicago, Illinois; her daughters-in-law, Angela McNeil and Waltrenia McNeil; sister, Ora Catherine Johnson. She was a proud grandmother to Brytani Burch of Houston, Talasha Willis of Flint, Taylor Bell of Flint, Sierra Reaux-McNeil of Denver, Colorado, Paris Perry of New York City, and Brooke McNeil of New York City, as well as Craig, Mark, and Silvia (Shawn). She was also a devoted great grandmother of six. Johnnie's memory will also be cherished by a host of dear friends and relatives, including Georgia Walker, Mother Dorthy Boyce, Mother Ethel Edwards, Inez Andrews, Mrs. Lois Curtis, Mrs. Elnora, Mrs. Alice, Mrs. Roxianna Moore, the Promise Tabernacle church family, and many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and caregivers. Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Mable Floore; her brother, JT Floore; her three sons, Daryl, William, and Douglas; her son-in-law, Willie Bell; and numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Johnnie Lee McNeil's legacy of love, dedication, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
