LINDSEY, Mr. Johnnie Ray, Sr. - Age 47, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 at North Star Missionary Baptist Church 1657 E. Broadway Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor James O. Flowers, Sr., officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Friday. Mr. Lindsey will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon- 8 p.m. Thursday with family present from 12Noon-4 p.m. Mr. Johnnie Ray Lindsey, Sr. was born February 12, 1964 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Henry (Nina Mae) Lindsey. Johnnie was a resident of Davison, Michigan. He attended Heavenly Host Full Gospel Baptist Church and North Star Missionary Baptist Church. Johnnie graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1982.” He worked security for several businesses including the Flint Community Schools and Flint Downtown Development Authority. Johnnie enjoyed traveling, grilling, baking, planting flowers, singing, football and wrestling. His latest hobby since retirement was listening to music on YouTube. Johnnie was always the life of the party with his warm laughter and handsome smile. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Angilena Davis-Lindsey of Davison, MI; 2 sons, Rayondrick Lindsey of Flint and Johnny Ray Lindsey, Jr. of Davison, MI; 2 step-sons, Theo McGinnis of Flint and Adrian L. Davis of Davison, MI; father, Henry L. Lindsey of Flint; 2 sisters, JoAnn (Robert) Cager of Nottingham, MD and Juliet Sutherland of Flint; brother, James (Raven) Lindsey of Houston, TX; 4 nieces, Nina (Schyler) Johnson of Parkville, MD, Denise Vincent of Flint, Jamesha Lindsey of Toledo, OH and Sequana Tolon of Springfield, MO; 6 nephews, Demetrice Lindsey, Barron Vincent, both of Flint, Bryan (Nicole) Vincent of Grand Blanc, MI, Brent McKee, Wayne Watkins, both of Houston, TX and Brandin Jackson of Saginaw, MI; 4 great-nieces; 2 great-nephews; aunt, Dorothy Cheeks of Flint; uncle, Johnny Lindsey of Flint; father-in-law, Andrew Davis (and companion, Charlena McClain) of Flint; sister-in-law, Sonya (Bernard) Jackson, Sr. of Flushing, MI;2 brothers-in-law, Justin Barron and Bryant Vincent, Sr., both of Flint; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including family pets, “Puffy” (Siebrian Husky) and “Ce-Ce” (Cockatiel). Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by his mother, Nina Mae Lindsey; and sister, Telisa Vincent. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. E. Saeed, Hurley Medical Center 4th floor ICU nurses and staff, Bishop M.C. Akins and the Heavenly Host Full Gospel Baptist Church family, Pastor James O.
