GARRISON, Mr. Johnnie - Age 57, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007. Funeral Service commencing 2PM Friday, June 8, 2007 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 2PM Friday. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Johnnie (Redcap/John22/Baby Jr.) Garrison was born August 17, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Ms. Lucille Lewis and Mr. John Shakier. Mr. Johnnie Garrison attended school in Chicago, IL, and the Flint Public Schools and was an accomplished Golden Glove Boxer. Mr. Johnnie Garrison was an avid hunter and fisherman, whom indulged in painting and sculpture. He was employed with GM working at Old Chevrolet (Delphi West) Local 659 for over 30 years. He was a very unique individual, he was a husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He will dearly be missed. He leaves a legacy with his wife of 43 years, Mrs. Sandra Garrison; 3 children, 2 daughters, Ms. Roslyn Garrison of Flint and Mr. and Mrs. Rolanda (Kayode) Idowu of Matteson, IL; son, Mr. John Garrison; the joy of his life 7 grandchildren, Dontavus, Horace and Johnetta Allen all of Flint, Jalen Ray Garrison of Montrose, MI, Elijah Ali Garrison of CA, Olufemi and Morayo Aliia Idowu of Matteson, IL; parents, Mr. and Mrs. John (Evelyn) Shakier of Chicago, IL; 4 sisters, Mrs. LeMore (Carrie) Williams, Ms. Patricia Garrison, Mr. and Mrs. Rhonda (Jerome) Blakely and Ms. Evelyn Garrison of Chicago, IL; 3 brothers, Mr. Ariel Garrison, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald (Carol) Smith of Chicago, IL, and Mr. Erskin Hodo of Grand Blanc, MI; father-in-law, Mr. Frankie Broadnax of Flint; sisters-in-law, Sabrina Broadnax of Flint and Ms. Patricia Wyche of Grand Blanc; 2 brothers-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jalil (Maria) and Mr. Anthony Carter of Flint; to forever cherish his memory a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins including the Parish and Grant families and many caring devoted friends. We the family of Mr.Johnnie Garrison would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Tim McKay and Mrs. Eula Allen for your kind hearted deeds that you showed our love one. Mr. Garrison was preceded in death by his son, Ali Shabazz Garrison (2005); mother, Lucille Lewis; special aunts, Mrs. Lorraine Finch and Mrs. Elise Kenny; sister; grandparents; great-grandparents; aunts; uncles; nephew; cousins; mother and sister-in-law.
