Mrs. Johnnie Faye Deal-Rivers

DEAL-RIVERS, Mrs. Johnnie Faye - Age 81, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at her residence. Mrs. Deal-Rivers will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM Thursday with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Interment 11:00 AM Friday, May 3, 2024 at Eastlawn Cemetery, 7475 East Holland Rd. Saginaw, MI. Johnnie Faye was born March 30th, 1943 In West Point, Mississippi to John Henry and Minnie Louise Gipson. Johnnie Faye loved the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age. Upon moving to Flint, Michigan in 1973, she was fully devoted to the Lord and was baptized at Christ Fellowship Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Alfred Robbs. Johnnie served on the Executive Board of The Victorious Christian Women from the beginning of it’s inception in 1984 and remained faithful until it dissolved. Soon after she moved to Detroit, MI, she became a licensed Minister, after which she went on to Ashland Theological Seminary where she graduated with honors. Johnnie Faye never met a stranger, she was so caring and her passion was to spread love and to always lend a helping hand. The minute you met her she had an encouraging word for you along with praises and/ or compliments. Her self-indulgement were shopping, home decor, reading, planting flowers, spending time in her cottage located in Canada and dining in the finest restaurants in and out of town. Johnnie Faye worked in Flint, for Genesee Intermediate School District (G.I.S.D.) for special needs kids and adults. She had such an abundance of love and passion for the job that she became the proprietor/owner of Rivers Adult Care in Detroit, MI. Johnnie Faye was united in Holy Matrimony to Jesse Rivers who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Daryl Deal; parents, John and Minnie Gipson; brothers, Frank Gregory and Perry Williams; sisters, Jeannette Billings and Lucille Surles; nieces, Regena Gipson and Phyllis Taylor; and great-nephew, Rhen Wright. Johnnie Faye Deal-Rivers leaves to cherish her precious memories: 4 daughters, Sarmite (Teine) Deal of Flint, Missey Deal, Camille Rivers, both of Detroit, MI and Cytrice Prince of Florence, AL; bonus daughter, Tonja Hill; 3 grandchildren, Arieal Johnson of Plano, TX, Ameshia Deal, Jesse (Amon) Deal, all of Detroit, MI; great-grandchild, Aries Johnson of Plano, TX; 5 sisters, Alice (Jimmie) Blakney of Saginaw, MI, Charlesetta Gipson of Marietta, GA, Gretchen (Stanley) Woods of Covington, GA, Gail Gipson of Eloy, AZ and Grace Gregory of Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Evelyn Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Brenda White, Mary Tibbs, Barbara Pruitt, Sharon Gamblin, Fisk Drive neighbors, the White family, the Leakes family and Lisa Woods. The family would like to express special thanks to Lawrence E.
