Mr. John Henry Mosley

MOSLEY, Mr. John Henry - Age 80, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at his residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Friday, October 21, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 AAM Friday. Mr. Mosley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Mr. John Henry Mosley was born July 26, 1942 in Hughes, Arkansas, the son of Washington and Gertrude Mosley. John “Mane” as he was called moved to Flint, Michigan after completing Mildred Jackson High School in Hughes, AR. Upon arrival in Flint, he soon gained employment with Service Parts Operations (SPO), a division of General Motors Corporation, retiring after 40 years of service. “Mane” enjoyed his daily work-out at the YMCA ending each session in the hot tube. During the summer months you could find him riding around town on his Yamaha Scooter enjoying the weather and saving gas. “Mane” also enjoyed bus trips visiting various casinos around the state and his many train trips to Arkansas to visit family. He cared for his oldest sister and made sure to visit her almost daily and held daily conversations on the phone with her. “Mane” rarely ever came to visit empty handed. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He was a generous giver and especially giving of advice. His laughter was infectious and his smile was contagious. One would never know what he would say once his eye brows went up. “Mane” was a lover of suits and hats. When it was time to dress, he accepted the assignment. He cherished his relationships with family and wanted to make sure that they would be able to survive without him. Mr. John Henry Mosley leaves to cherish his memory: 4 daughters and 1 son, Earl Kendall of Grand Rapids, MI, Monique (Stanley) Williams, Kristina Mosley, all of Flint, Marshay Mosley of Taylor, MI and Tina Mosley of Flint; 9 grandchildren, Joimonn Davis of Grand Rapids, MI, Teneja Mosley of Farmington Hills, MI, Moneshia Williams, Stanley Williams, J’mani Mosley, Ansia Watkins, Markus Badger, all of Flint, Isaac and Malcolm Milton, both of Taylor, MI; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Vera Fryer of Flint, Hattie Gatewood, Doris Jordan, both of West Memphis, AR and Mary Mitchell of Lansing, MI; 8 nieces, Anita, Jean, Betty, Shawn, Lisa, Sue, Val and Marilyn; 14 nephews, Willie, Michael, Sam, Kip, Charles, Ollie, Aaron, Ray, Alfred, Ronnie, Edward, Anthony, Leon and Tim; a host of cousins including special cousin, David Mosley; sister-in-law, Ceola Mosley of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Ray, Horse, George and friends from the Quick Pick Party Store. Mr. Mosley was preceded in death by his parents, Washington and Gertrude Mosley; brothers, Sam and Joel; brothers-in-law, Ollie Fryer, Sam Jordan and Fred Gatewood. The family would like to express special thanks to Green River Church Of God In Christ, Refuge Temple Church of Flint, Ms. Isom and the B.I.C. family, and nephew like a brother, Willie Fryer.
