MCCANN, Mr. John - Age 80, passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, November 7, 2016 at Judah Full Gospel Baptist Church, G-5380 W. Pierson Rd. with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Benny Stribling officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Monday. Mr. McCann will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. Flint, MI, and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday with family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mr. John Chantis McCann passed away Monday, October 31, 2016 at the age of 80 years. He was born May 11, 1936 in Philadelphia, Mississippi, the son of Howard and Roberta McCann. John married Inize Lyons on October 22, 2004. He was a resident of Flint, Michigan and a member of Judah Ministries where he served as a Deacon and on the Trustee Board. John served in the United States Army and retired from Chevy in the hole, a division of General Motors. He was a kind, caring and giving man. John loved traveling with his niece, Cassandra Moore-Jackson and taking pictures with niece, Marcia (Cee Cee) McQueen. Mr. John Chantis McCann leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Inize Lyons-McCann; five sons, Michael Brown of Philadelphia, MS, Marvin (Donna) Lyons of Royal Oak, MI, Norman (Sherrese Harris) Lyons of Flint, William (Bettie) Ferguson of Memphis, TN and Mitchell (Phyllis) Ferguson of Chesaning, MI; two daughters, Doris (Tim) Allen of Memphis, TN and Sandra Watson of Flint, MI; grandchildren, Traquez C. Lyons, James Everett-Lyons, Shakia Harris, Chari Harris, Tyra Allen, Monae Lyons and Terina Ferguson; a host of great-grandchildren; brother, Mark Henry McCann of Fayetteville, NC; two sisters, Dianella Laverne Moore of Flint, MI and Maureen Wooten of Florissant, MO; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean McCann of Moss Point, MS; special niece, Barbara Moore-Jackson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mr. McCann was preceded in death by his daughters, Linda and Beverly Ferguson; former wife, Gladys McCann; parents, Howard and Roberta McCann; brothers, Wayne and Bill McCann; sister-in-law, Helen McCann; niece, Dixie Moore-Forte and nephew, Jadie Moore.
