HALL, Mr. John A. - Age 76, passed away Monday, November 5, 2007 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, G-5443 N. Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Pastor Alfred L. Harris, Sr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday. Mr. Hall will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Friday. Mr. John Albert Hall, better know as "Sam" was born March 10, 1931 in Greenville, Georgia, the only child born to Clara Tucker. John graduated from Flint Northern High School. He enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. John was a lifetime member of V.F.W. of the United States Post #3791. He retired from General Motors Skill Trade with 31 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #599. John married Orris Powell and to this union John Steven was born. John enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved early morning coffee and dinner with friends and family. Mr. John Albert "Sam" Hall leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife of 52 years, Orris Hall; son, John Steven of Flint; 3 grandchildren, Chenita (Kedric) Campbell of Detroit, John Anthony Hall of Nashville, TN and Kevin Hall of Norfolk, VA; 1 great-grandson, Jaylen Campbell of Detroit; "brother", Edward Earl (Laura) Horton of Flushing; 2 brothers-in-law, Victor (Gladys) Powell and Leon Powell both of Flint; 2 sisters-in-law, Doris (Silas) Johnson of Rison, AR and Jewel Whitley of Aberdeen, MS; aunt, Rosa Parks of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Peter Harris and Rev. P. Martin of Flint. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Clara Tucker; daughter-in-law, Lenora D. Hall. The family would like to express special thanks to Matthew Taylor and Hartland Home Care and Hospice, Hurley Medical Center, Rev. Alfred L. Harris, Sr. and the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church family.
