Mr. John Willis Croffe Jr.

CROFFE, Mr. John Willis Jr. - Age 66, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 PM Monday, May 16, 2022, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Monday. Mr. Croffe will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Sunday. Mr. John Willis Croff Jr. “June” was born June 29, 1955 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Maple Lee Savage and John Willis Croffe Sr. John was raised in Flint and in Toledo, OH. He graduated from Flint Northern High School. John taught at King Elementary School where he was a Wrestling Coach and Boxing Coach. He volunteered at Carriage Town Ministries. John loved to read magazines, newspapers, books, teach you about boxing, playing cards and Dominos. He also loved watching Maury, Jerry Springer, western shows, wrestling, movies and Monk. John loved to joke around and do pranks, scaring the kids, sitting outside, 2-step dancing, ironing his clothes and grooming himself. His favorite foods were, pig feet, beans & cornbread, root beer pop, candy slices, peanuts, eggs, hot sauce, ice cream and toasties. He will be greatly missed. Mr. John Willis Croff Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Zhonae “Lil Mama” Croffe, Aresenia “Pee Pee” Foster and Maple Lee Savage of Wisconsin; son, Markquel “Sir” Ester-Croffe; step-children, Aresina Foster, Brandon Foster, Kenonate Hilbert, Brittany Holbert, Antwan “Juice” Green, Danisha Green and D’martinnese Foster; a host of grandchildren including, Kayden Kennedy, Alanna Lane, and British Lane; sisters, Glenda Fay Long of Flint and Martha Saunders of Tampa, FL; nieces, LaDonna Croffe and Crystal Croffe; nephews, Johnathon Croffe, all of Flint, Clearnce LaKenra) Williams Jr., of Denton, TX, Alfonzo Johnson, Jeffrey Bradford, Deantae Young and Ishmael Bryson; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including longtime friend, Michelle Ester, J.C., Bee, Rainy and Tameka, Peter and Dave. Mr. Croff was preceded in death by his son, John “Little June” Croffe III; parents, Maple Lee Savage and John Willis Croffe Sr.; sister, Janice Ruth Bryson; nephew, Mark Nathaniel Williams; cousins, Bub Savage, Jimmy Charles, and Shane Richards; uncles, Sammie Savage, Bub Savage and Marshall Savage; aunt, Stine Savage.
