ARNOLD, Mr. John A. - Age 73, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his residence. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2 p.m. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Arnold will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Wednesday. Mr. John A. Arnold was born July 26, 1937 in Collirene, Alabama, the son of the late Arthur and Lula Belle (Henderson) Arnold. Mr. Arnold relocated to Flint in August 1964. He was a member of Solid Rock COGIC. Soon after moving to Flint, he became employed with the Coca Cola Bottling Company, where he retired in 1995 after 28 1/2 years of service. John was united in Holy Matrimony to Regina Davis on December 2, 2003. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, singing and going to the Farmer’s Market. John was a loving husband and caring father; he was proud to tell anyone who was listening how many great grandchildren he had. Mr. John Arthur Arnold leaves to cherish sweet memories: loving wife, Regina of Flint; 2 daughters, Esther Blanche Arnold of Minneapolis, MN and Regina Dixon of Flint; sons, Preston Arnold of Minneapolis, MN, Simeon Reynolds and Deonte H. Arnold; stepson whom he loved as a son:, Dominique Collier, all of Flint; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Louise Arnold of Collirene, AL and Eleanor (Andrew) Choice of Flint; 4 brothers, Eddie Arnold, Colvin (Terry) Arnold, all of Flint, Willie (Carmelita) Arnold and Melvin Arnold, all Collirene, AL; a host of nieces and nephews; aunt, Paralee Waller of Cleveland, OH; a host of uncles and cousins; sisters-in-law, JoEthel Arnold, Cynthia Davis, Toya Arnold and Deloris Archer; brothers-in-law, Andrew Choice, Eric Davis, Jeffery Davis and Steven Davis, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends Joe Moore of Miami, FL and Jimmie Shelby. Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his daughter, Holly Arnold; son, Marvin McNight; parents; sister, Lillian Fair; brother, James Arnold and close friend, Wilbert McClain.
