Mr. John Anderson

ANDERSON, Mr. John - Age 57, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G- 4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Anderson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12 p.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. John Everett Anderson, Known as “D.J.” by his family and friends, began his journey of life on August 17, 1956 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Eliza and the late Johnny Anderson. D.J. attended the Flint Community Schools and was previously employed by General Motors. He worked as a painter and had other jobs as a laborer. In his youth, D.J. loved to play sports and he always dressed with style. He loved his family! Mr. John Everett Anderson leaves to cherish his memories: fiancé, Linda Wright; 3 daughters, Kienya (Michael) Thomas, Kameka (Deontae) Eubanks and Kendra Anderson, all of Flint; stepchild, Dominick Wright; 7 grandchildren, Monteca, Mykayla, Coreyonte’, LaDarius, Dallas, Keontae and Kanaya, all of Flint; mother, Eliza; sisters, Johanna Houston and Margaret (Robert Clark) Anderson all of Flint; brothers, Allen (Michelle) Anderson and Gregory Anderson, all of Flint; aunts, Doreatha Bates, Nellie Thomas and Eddie Mae James all of Flint; and LeDora Whitaker of Pine Bluff, AR; uncles, Joe (Rose) Byrd, Andrew and Archie Byrd all of Flint; sisters-in-law, Tressie Glenn of CA; Glory (Keith) Riggs, Erma Polk and special sisters-in-law, Shirley (Harvey) Gilliam, Cleola (Leroy) Griffis all of Flint; brothers-in-law, Reanell Johnson and Darnell Wright, both of Flint and Ira L. Jones of Pine Bluff, AR; a host of other relatives and friends including, the mother of his children, Katie McDonald, a host of nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, including special cousin, Lavester (Skippy) Bates; special friends, Michael Taylor, Paul Coulter, Orlando Jacobs, Fred Littlejohn, Estes Jackson and Andrew Langston. Mr. John Everett Anderson was preceded in death by his son, John Anderson Jr.; father, Johnny Anderson; brother, David Anderson; sisters, Barbara Herrin El and Georgia (Red) Anderson; nephew Clyde “LaRay” Anderson; stepson, Curtis Wright; mother and father-in-law, Mr. Delois Wright and Mildred Wright. The family would like to express special thanks to Fred Littlejohn and the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home staff. The family of the late John E. Anderson wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation for the many comforting messages, floral tribute, prayers and other expressions of kindness and concern during this time.
