ANDERSON, Mr. John Henry Jr. - Age 66, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, December 20, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with a memorial service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Allen C. Overton Sr., officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Friday. There will be no public viewing. Mr. John Henry Anderson was known to his family and friends as “Man”, he graced this world with his presence on July 24, 1958, in the heart of Flint, Michigan. A man of deep beliefs and a heart full of unwavering love, John left this world on December 5, 2024, at the age of 66. As we gather to celebrate the beautiful life John lived, we remember his legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will forever echo in the hearts of all those who knew him. John was a gentle and humble soul, grounded in Christianity. His love of God is reflective of his life and relationships. His faith guided him through the ups and downs of life, shaping the deeply compassionate and reliable man we were fortunate to know. To say “Man” valued family would be an understatement; his family was the center of his universe, and nothing brought him more pride and joy than spending time with them. Whether it was enjoying a good meal, laugh or sharing a tender moment with his beloved mother, his love for his family was evident in every action and word. “Man’s” kindness and compassion could turn strangers into lifelong friends. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel cherished and cared for. Traits that his family will remember fondly. “Man” wasn’t a man of many words, preferring to show his love through actions. His quiet strength and unwavering support were the foundation upon which his loved ones could always rely. John “Man” is lovingly remembered by his siblings: Joseph, James H., Willie (Elaine), Yvette, Mark, Velma, Anthony, Joy, Shanda, and Dawn; nephews, Chae, Damon, Johnathan, and Sir James; nieces, Selena & Richard Sekol, Deja, Ashley and Adaya; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins including special cousin, Trina Teverbaugh and Sheldon & Cynthia Neeley; special neighbors, Ms. Hattie Walker & Ms. Beverly Tucker and family, and also Sean Burnett and family. The family would like to express special thanks to the Flint Police Department and all those who love “Man”. Although he is now reunited with his late brother, Robert Anderson; parents, Barbara & John H. Anderson Sr.; and grandparents. He leaves behind a family bonded by his enduring love and guidance. Tomorrow is not promised, make today count, love out loud and with intention!
