ALEXANDER, Mr. Joe Louis - Age 87, passed away Monday, October 16, 2023 Regency of Grand Blanc. Memorial service 11:00 AM Monday, October 23, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Joe Louis Alexander was born March 10, 1936 in DeKalb, Kemper County, Mississippi, the son of Sue and Louis Alexander. Joe was a resident of Grand Blanc, Michigan. He retired from General Motors Corporation and Vlasic Pickle Factory. Joe was a loving, compassionate man. He was generous, funny, straight forward, hard working and dedicated to giving his all, and he was a leader. Joe enjoyed watching westerns, Family Feud, The View and was a fan of the Detroit Lions, Michigan State and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved Blues Music and spending time with his family. Joe was unbiased and selfless. He was an honest man and he didn’t play favorites. Joe was fair across the board and a man of integrity. Mr. Joe Louis Alexander leaves to cherish his memory: 7 daughters, Aqua (Joshua) Jones-Harmon, Chrystal Stacker, Cherry Alexander, Theresa (Michael) Clark, Chanel McGee, Annie Alexander and TraShonda Alexander; 5 sons, Joseph Alexander, Terry Alexander, Reginald Alexander, Delano Alexander and Joshua Alexander; 4 step-children, Julia Hill, Rose Crittendon-Quays, Yvette Bennett and Earl Lewis; 27 grandchildren including, Elijah Alexander, Adrian Jones-Harmon, Ja’Lia Jones-Harmon, Kelsie Kelvon Seay, Koyan Dra Hawkins, all of Dallas, TX, Indianapolis, IN and Flint, MI; a host of great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Patrick of Philadelphia, MS; brother, Virgil (Mary) Alexander of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Exie Alexander, Mrs. Janice, Charli, Rosenburg and Houston. Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his daughters, Rose Crittendon and Julia Hill; granddaughters, Tammy Goodrum and Ladetris Lloyd; and grandson, Kenge Norris Jr.; parents, Sue and Louis Alexander; sisters, Eula Franklin and Ruthie Mae Clemons; brother, Williams Alexander. The family would like to express special thanks to April Alexander, McLaren Hospice, Regency of Grand Blanc and Michelle Leflore.
