Mrs. Jessie Mae Wolfe

WOLFE, Mrs. Jessie - Age 77, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service 11:00 AM Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., Pastor Rabon Turner, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 11:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Wolfe will lie in stated in the Chapel of Lawrence E Moon Funeral Home 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday. Mrs. Jessie Mae (Pritchett) Wolfe was born on February 16, 1943 in Walker Springs, Alabama, the daughter of the late Rhodie and Mary E. (Rivers) Pritchett. She was the second of twelve siblings. Jessie left Alabama at an early age to live with her aunt and uncle, Webster and Lillie (Rivers) Williamson in Memphis, TN. She was a 1964 graduate of Manassas High School in Memphis, TN. After completion of high school, she attended Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN, earning a Bachelors in Education. After graduating from Tennessee State University in 1968, Jessie moved to Flint, Michigan. She immediately began her career in teaching in the Flint Community School System as an Elementary School Teacher. Jessie was a devoted teacher and changed so many students life paths through her teaching. She retired in 2005 from the Flint Community Schools, after 37 years of service. Jessie accepted Christ at an early age. She joined and became a member of Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church on February 19, 1978. Jessie served diligently in many ministries of the church. She was gifted with a true Contralto Voice, singing with the Adult Choir, Mass Choir, Women’s Choir and Golden Voices. Jessie served as Co-Ministry Leader of the Tutorial Programs, Chairman of Scholarship Ministry, Vacation Bible School, Women’s Ministry and Three Score and More. Jessie loved her Church family, a true servant. Jessie grew up in a family surrounded with love. Her devotion to family was unwavering. She enjoyed hosting and cooking for the family traditional Thanksgiving and New Year’s dinners at her home each year. Jessie enjoyed bowling, music, shopping and traveling with Three Score and More Ministry of Grace Emmanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Jessie Mae Wolfe leaves to rejoice in the richness of her life: beloved aunt, Lillie (Rivers) Williamson (Matriarch) of Memphis, TN; 5 sisters, Lessie Mae Pritchett, Gladys (Paul) Neely, all of Flint, Geraldine Pritchett of Reston, VA, Sarah Harris and Bernice Pritchett, both of Flint; 4 brothers, Robert J. (Lucinda) Pritchett of Jackson, AL, Bobby G. (Dorothea) Pritchett, Charles Pritchett, all of Flint and Eddie (Cynthia) Pritchett of Jackson, AL; a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friend, Judy (Randy) Thornton.
