JAMES, Mr. Jessie Lee - Age 57, passed away January 13, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30PM Wednesday, January 21, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 2PM. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30PM Wednesday. Mr. James will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Tuesday. Mr. Jessie Lee James was born July 13, 1951 in Emerson, Arkansas the son of Mrs. Mae Ree Hunter. He came to Michigan to start his life, where he met, fell in love and married Pamela Jackson. Mr. James worked with Big C’s Asphalt for over 25 years before retiring. He was a member of UAW Local 322 and 1119. Jessie preached to young kids and adults about doing the right thing. He was known for his famous Bar-be-cue sauce for miles around and would not give out his secrets. Jessie enjoyed so many things like talking, fishing, cards, bones, all sports, cookouts, and the Jerry Springer Show. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Jessie was no stranger to anyone. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Jessie took his nieces and nephews under his wings as his own. Mr. Jessie Lee James leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Mrs. Pamela James; daughter, Crystal Hughes; son, Jessie James, Jr. both of Flint; daughter-in-law, Patrina Cabell; grandchildren, Marcus Jackson, II, Nylar Robinson, Seriyah and Jataeyah; sister, Gendenice Thomas of Flint; 4 brothers, Willie T., Roosevelt, Tommie and Roy; mother-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; other relatives and friends including special friends, Lawrence Love, Willie Boyd, Edward Brown, Shirley Calderon and Mr. Darryl Buchanan. Mr. James was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Mae Ree Hunter; son, Marcus Jackson; 3 grandchildren; 2 sisters; 2 brothers including, Richard Taylor. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center Emergency Room staff.
