TOWNSEND, Mr. Jerry Neil - Age 51, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Church of God, 1513 Kent St., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Eld. Lawrence Washington, Sr., officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Saturday. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Jerry Neil "J.T." Townsend was born July 9, 1954 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Rufus and Dorthy (Odum) Townsend. Jerry was a lifelong resident of Flint before transferring to Fory Wayne, IN to continue his employment with General Motors Corporation. He was a member of UAW Local #2209. Jerry loved to fish and hunt. He was a person with whom you met and never forgot. After the passing of his mother, Jerry resided with his aunt, Minnie (Charles) Woods. Jerry leaves to cherish his memory: dear and devoted wife, Janet (Abron) Townsend; 3 sons, Jajuan, Jason and Jerrod; step daughter, Tamika; 8 grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Samuels of Flint and Michael Odum of Houston, TX; sisters, Tracey (James) Tefft, Vicky Townsend, all of Houston, TX, Shirley (JB) Odneal of Flint, Prinzella (James) Milledge of Houston, TX, Lanettea Odum of Fremont, CA and Tina (Kennard) Edwards of Las Vegas, NV; step brothers and sisters, Helen Bennett of Los Angeles, CA, Otis Milhouse of Detroit, MI, Harrell Milhouse of Flint and Tyrone Odum of Huntsville, AL; aunt, Minnie (Charles) Woods of Flint & the Woods family; special father & mother-in-law, Ed (Ernestine "Mother") Abron; 8 sisters-in-law; 9 brothers-in-law; a host of aunts & uncles including Mary Alice Rhoads, Ruth Milhouse, Henry Limbrick, William Odum and Napolean Odum; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including friends in Fort Wayne, IN. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Dorthy Townsend; father, Rufus Townsend; sister, Pat Townsend-Wilson; and brother, Donnie Townsend.
