SANDERS, Mr. Jerry Wayne- Age 52, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Grand Blanc Rehabilitation Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m., Pastor Latrelle Holmes officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Sanders will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1p.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Jerry W. Sanders “Buster”, as he was known by everyone, was born October 31, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Darlene Sanders and Henry Bingham, Sr. Jerry was a life-long resident of Flint and attended Flint Public Schools. His trademark was definitely his style of wearing his hats and caps hanging off the side of his head. Nobody could wear a hat like “Buster”. “Buster” made many friends, some of them very special ones. He loved family gatherings and especially the yearly trip to the zoo. Mr. Jerry W. “Buster” Sanders leaves to cherish his memory: 2 daughters, Bianca and Dominique Smothers; 2 sons, Twan Sanders and DeAntwan Kemp; 4 grandchildren; 6 sisters, Debra and Betty Joe Sanders, Emma Ivory, Betty Barber, Sandra Bradshaw-Tidwell, and Ervine Morgan; 5 brothers, Glynell Sanders, Mickey Bradshaw, Henry Bingham, Jr., Melvin and R.L. Bingham; a host of nieces and nephews including, Marquis, Martrel and Marquez Sanders; 2 aunts, Ozelia (Henry) Milton and Jean Banks; many cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends, including mothers of his children, Denise Stevens and Kathy Smothers; special friend, Kimberly Bond; god-sister, Jerri Douglas. “Buster” had a very special bond with cousins, Nae Nae, Chelle, Keisha, Robricus, Laneekra, Delisa, Kiasia and Tae. They could reach him when nobody else could. Other dear friends include, Joe Allen and wife Denise, Sam, Pat, Rev. Joseph Moye and many more. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents, Darlene Sanders and Henry Bingham, Sr.; Harold and Sylvia Bradshaw, who raised him; grandparents, Annie B. and William Banks; 3 brothers; 4 sisters; many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. The family would like to express special thanks to Genesys Health Park and Grand Blanc Rehabilitation Center, Barbara Watkins, Luther Guy and his frequent visitors.
