Mr. Jerry Dee Owens

OWENS, Mr. Jerry Dee, Age 52, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Owens will lie in state in the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd, Flint, MI and may be viewed Friday, May 1, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Mr. Jerry D. Owens Jr. was born September 24, 1967 in Flint, Michigan, the to proud parents of Jerry Sr. and Vivian J. Owens. He was a happy child with a round head and a beautiful smile. As a child, Jerry attended Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church. He didn’t attended church much but, he would often times visit the Joy Tabernacle Church (on Chevrolet Ave.) Jerry lived a care free life never opting to be tied down in one place too long. Always on the go, busy doing something for somebody, fixing this or building that. A special person that we all treasured. If you needed him all you had to do was call. Jerry will truly be missed by us all. He loved his family, helping others and eating sweets. 2 Corinthians 5:8-9 KJV “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.” Mr. Jerry D. Owens Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Keiana McNabb of Athens, AL, Viola (John) Routson of Lima, OH; step-daughter, Latasha McNabb of Athens, AL; son , Andrew Forrest of Lima, OH; aunts, Lillian Cheatom, Thelma Whitiker, Melinda Cheatom, Sheila Cheatom, all of Flint; special cousins who always had his back, Matthew Cain, Owen Turner III, LaRon Turner, Wilson Rogers, Rubie (Otis) Hervey, all of Flint, Teresa Cain and Diane Gatson, both of Lima, OH; grandchildren, Isiah and Noah McNabb, both of Athens, AL, John III and Emmlaya Routson, both of Lima, OH; siblings, Anthony Owens, Terrence Owens, Latanya (Marlon) Battle, Shanita Owens, all of Lima, OH, April Owens, Natalie Wright and Charles Owens, all of Flint; special friend, Georgia Swimmer of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews cousins, other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Owens Sr. and Vivian J. Owens-Bates; and step-father, Frank S. Bates. The family would like to thank you for all your expressions of Love.
