THOMPSON, Mrs. Jennie Yvonne - Age 64 went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at her residence. Family hour 10:30am Tuesday March 8, 2005 at Ebenezer Ministries 2130 S. Center Rd. Burton, MI, with funeral service commencing immediately at 11:00am. Pastor Urundi B. Knox, officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30am Tuesday. Mrs. Jennie Yvonne Thompson will lies in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., from 12noon-5pm today, and there will be no public viewing. Mrs. Jennie Thompson was born February 23, 1941 in Nashville, Tennessee the daughter of Willie B. Jackson and Allean Arnell. She was a devoted member of Ebenezer Ministries where she sang in the choir and worked the Prison Ministry. Prior to her retirement in 2003, she was employed at Genesee Vision Clinic for 26 years. Jennie was a member of the Flint Golferettes and volunteered with the Flint Inner City Junior Golf Program. She was also a member of the Big Sisters of Flint. Jennie Yvonne married Bill Thompson on September 14, 1974. Yvonne and Bill enjoyed playing golf together for many years in a Couples League. Jennie Yvonne Thompson leaves to cherish her precious memory devoted husband, William Thompson; daughter, Tara (Kirby) Carswell of Atlanta, GA sons, Lorre Butler and Lee Butler both of Flint, MI; Eric (Phyllis) Thompson of Anchorage, AK; 6 grandchildren; special grandson, Lomar Butler; mother, Allean Arnell; 4 sisters, Deloris (Vincent) Florence, Doristene Phillips, Jacqueline (Grover) Whittington and Yolanda Jason all of Nashville, TN; 6 brothers, Ernest J. Arnell, Edward (Pat) Arnell III, Ronald (Sheila) Arnell, Jeffery E. Arnell all of Nashville, TN, Donald (Pamela) Arnell and William G. Arnell all of TX; 2 fathers-in-law, Clark Henderson of Flint, MI; William Thompson, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; 3 sisters-in-law, Dorothy Densen, Betty Petty and Francine Henderson (Ralph Green) all of Flint, MI; 1 brother-in-law, Gary (Mae) Thompson of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews including special friends , Audrey Banks, Sadie Brigance and Lisa Rassoli. Mrs. Jennie Yvonne Thompson was preceded in death by her father, Willie B. Jackson; granddaughter, Kaleeiah S. Butler; brother-in-law, Robert Phillips.
