BARNES, Mr. J.C. - Age 52, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Barnes will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 1-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. J.C. Barnes was born July 22, 1958 in Mendenhall, Mississippi, the son of I.V. and Bertha Barnes. J.C. loved fishing and spending time with his family. He had a big heart and was willing to help anyone in need. Even though he had no children he was a father to many. J.C. would brighten and touch many people lives. He had a great sense of humor that could make your day. J.C. was employed at LDM Technology for many years and Career Alliance until his health began to fail. Mr. J.C. Barnes leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Bertha Barnes; 2 sisters, Millie and Beverly Barnes, all of Flint; 6 brothers, Prentiss Milton of Houston, TX, Ivory, Carl, both of Hattiesburg, MS, Elvis, Jimmy Barnes and Elliot Milligan, all of Flint; 6 nieces, Danita (Jamie) Yanke, Vallin Williams of Flint, Seneca and Saneca Barnes, both of Lansing, MI, Faith and Precious Milton of Houston, TX; 5 nephews, Jarvis Milton, Curtis and Jacob Reed, Darius and Dominique Barnes, all of Flint; aunt, Clara (Nathan) Bratton of McGee, MS; uncles, Jimmy Lee Milton of McGee, MS and Eddie Ray Milton of Jackson, MS; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special cousin, Glaydane Barnes, friends, Marcus Osborne, Lionel “Train”, Mike and godson, P.J., special niece, Denita Yanke, goddaughter, Tiffany, and god sister, Trina and Betty Yanke “Baby Mama.” Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his father, I.V. Barnes; grandparents, Leroy and Millie Milton, Eliosha and Nan Barnes. The family would like to express special thanks to Danita (Jamil) Yanke, Katrina (Stanley) Millender, Vincent Millender, the staff of McLaren Regionl Medical Center and best friend and brother, Elvis Barnes and Rev. Robert Allen.
