ALLEN, Mr. J.C. - Age 85, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Wednesday, September 2, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Wednesday. Mr. Allen will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Tuesday. Bro. J C Allen was born September 1, 1923 in Canton, Mississippi, the son of Elnora Robinson. J C moved to Jackson, Michigan in the early 1950’s, where he resided until he became ill in April 2009. He was a faithful member of the Lily Missionary Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years. J C retired with over 25 years of service from Kelsey-Hayes. He loved fishing, hunting, barbecuing, reading his Bible and spending time with his family and friends. Bro. J C Allen leaves to cherish his memory: 6 nieces, Rose (Brinson) Kelly, Carrie Jones, both of CA, Shirley Nickson, Linda Thompson, Vickie Thompson and Phyllis Luckett, all of MS; 5 nephews, L.H. Thompson, Carl (Cynthia) Sims, Tony Thompson, Canaria Bell and Jackie (Debra) Thompson, all of MS; 2 uncles, Tommie (Shirley) Robinson of Flint and Henry (Rose) Robinson of Grand Blanc, MI; sister-in-law, Zula Mae Jones-Seaborn of Canton, MS, a host of great-nieces; great nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends, including special cousins, Estelle (Jimmie) Lever, Annie Brewer, Jesse Mayberry, Janet Shaw and Jeannie Mayberry; dear friend, Pastor A. Polk Williams; friend and neighbor, Eather Gillestpie. Bro. Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Elnora Robinson; 2 brothers, Edward Jones and Henry Lee Thompson, Jr.; grandparents; 1 niece; 1 nephew; 6 aunts and 3 uncles. The Allen family would like to express special thanks to McLaren’s 12th floor staff, Kith Haven’s 2nd floor staff, Stephanie and Andre Gibson, Estelle Lever, caregiver, Tylimacus “Tim” Shaw, Terrence Mayberry, Antonio Jenkins, Juan Goosby, Patricia Bridges and the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Church family.
