POUNDS, Ms. Janie Mae - Age 74, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:30 AM Monday, June 11, 2018 at Agape Faith Fellowship, 8121 Dixie Hwy., Birch Run, MI., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Pastor Joseph Rodriguez officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Monday. Ms. Pounds will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sunday with the family present from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM to receive friends. Janie Mae Pounds born February 18, 1944 in South Pittsburgh Tennessee, the daughter of James Chapman and Beulah Mae Pounds. She attended Agape Faith Fellowship. Janie graduated from Agape Faith Bible Training Center in 1999. She worked for the University of Michigan Flint for over 30 years retiring as the Supervisor of the Thompson Library. Janie was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family during the holidays and family cookouts. Janie also loved to watch her westerns! Janie Mae Pounds leaves to cherish her memory: son, Rodrick (Carletta) Itson; daughter, Kimberly Itson, all of Flint, MI; grandsons, DeAndre’ J. (Jennifer) Calvert of Westland, MI, Terrance Itson Jr. and JaRon Itson, both of Killeen, TX; granddaughters, Rosaland Itson of Jacksonville, FL and Tamecia Itson of Killeen, TX; great-grandchildren. James Fredrick Calvert, Jayceon Itson, Cayden Itson, Delyssia Itson, and Lindsay Gebhardt-Calvert; daughter-in-law, Danette Itson of Killeen, TX; brother, Thomas Pounds; sisters, Brenda Williams and Mary Pounds, all of Flint, MI; a host of cousins including special cousin, Philip Mobley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Janie was preceded in death by her son, Terrance Itson Sr.; father, James Chapman Pounds; mother, Beulah Mae Pounds; brothers, Vincent and Jimmie Pounds; sisters, Vester Marie Pounds and Emily Sue Holbrook.
