JONES, Ms. Janice Louise - Age 56, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at her residence. Family hour 11:00 AM Friday, July 26, 2019 at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 3020 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 12:00 PM Pastor Kevin Thompson, Sr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11:00 AM Friday. Ms. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Thursday. Ms. Janice Louise (Fleming) Jones was born May1, 1963 in New Park, Arkansas, the daughter of the late John U. Sr. and Roberta Fleming. She resided in Arkansas until the age of 3 years old before moving to Flint, Michigan with the rest of her family to begin her new journey. Janice graduated from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1981.” She went on to further her education becoming a Pharmacy Technician and was employed at Kroger Pharmacy for several years. Janice loved and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and sisters, Betty Jean and Niecy. These 3 sisters were also known as Thelma & Louise, and Betty Boop. The 3 of them traveled the world and got lost everywhere they went. Janice also had a special love for kids and did anything to put a smile on their face. She was a great mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend. Last but not least, Janice loved to Lord and always put him first in every aspect of her life. She was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church since she was a kid, up until now. Janice loved St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. Ms. Janice Louise Jones leaves to cherish her memory: 3 children, Jancey Carter of Nashville, TN, Deonte (Krystal) Carter and Jerry Carter Jr., all of Flint; 10 grandchildren, Rodney James III, Raylin Carter, both of Nashville, TN, Deonte Jr., Jaylen, Kamora, Zoey and Zion Carter, Aniyah Turner, Mashya McKenzie and Jariyah Carter; 2 sisters, Betty Jean Fleming and Autrice Niecy Fleming; 4 brothers, Johnny Rae (Crystal) Fleming, Min. Terry Fleming of Nashville, TN, Min. John (Dorinda) Fleming Jr. of Jonesboro, GA and Alan Fleming of Searcy, AR; 4 aunts, Georgetta Summerfield of New Port, AR, Mary Wilson, Glen (James) Moore and Marta Coburn, all of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews including, Courtney, Anylah, Milan and Johnae; god-brother, Darrell Campbell; god-children, Cierra McCaskill, Trencye Beard and Arasha Dunn; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Deborah, Tracie, Tangy, Iron Man, Al Jones and Jerry Carter Sr. Ms. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, John and Roberta Fleming; grandparents; niece, Lemonia Fleming; nephew, Marico Fleming; uncle, Arthur Hill; and best friend, Michele Dunn.
