WEBB, Ms. Janet Elaine - Age 72, passed away Monday, April 10, 2023 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Refuge Temple Church, 4400 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Matthew Jackson, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 AM Tuesday. Mrs. Webb will lie in state in the chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Monday. Ms. Janet Elaine Webb was born January 1, 1951 at Hurley Hospital, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Samuel and Ella Webb. Janet was a resident of Flint until the Lord called her home on Monday, April 10, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her daughter, grandchildren and others that she loved dearly. She was raised in holiness as a young child at Bethlehem Temple Pentecostal Apostolic Church on Spencer Street, baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost at the tender age of 10. Janet continued worshipping the Lord at Bethel Church of the Apostolic Faith and later in life joined Refuge Temple Church of Flint where she remained faithful, until she was no longer able to attend due to health issues. Janet love the Lord and is now resting in God’s loving arms until His return. Janet attended Flint Public Schools graduating from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1969.” and would proudly tell others, “You should have been a Wildcat!” laughing with that smile of hers and that twinkle in her eye. Moving forward in life, she hired into AC Spark Plug in 1970, retiring from Delphi Assembly Plant, both divisions of General Motors Corporation in 2005 with 35 years of service. To this day, Janet has touched so many lives with her loving, kind, supportive and generous spirit. Her openness and willingness to share her blessings and time freely with others, joyously and expecting nothing in return is to be commended. Sis. Webb loved when the spring and summer months arrived, so she could get on the road in her Hummer and travel with her family and friends. Janet enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the kids play and talking with her neighbors. In fact, while sitting on the front porch, she received the call from Ann Arbor that they had a heart for her, which had been her prayer to God, and it changed her life. What a joyous day it was! Trips to the farmers market, summer musical festivals, gospel concerts, attending different churches for revivals and overall socializing with friends. Her biggest joy was the family gatherings throughout the year, spending time with one another, creating special memories that will last a lifetime. It was necessary to have her “me time” to relax, which was the animal channel and CNN. The love she gave to others, was an unconditional love and she stood in the gap for so many that had lost their mothers. Janet was a jewel in the community where she lived. She was immensely proud of the men and women her children grew up to be and her grandchildren are growing into, knowing that her resiliency and labor had not been in vain. Janet loved them and they loved her back. Ms. Janet Elaine Webb leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Ms. Acquiana Webb; granddaughter, Ms. Kenshyra Webb; grandsons, Charles L. Webb and Jauan Latrell Smith Jr., all of Flint and Jarmal Webb of Oklahoma; 2 brothers, Elder Terry Webb and Mr. James Green, both of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, classmates and many friends. Ms. Webb was preceded in death by her daughter, Octavia “Snag” Webb; son, Jarmal Webb; parents, Mr. & Mrs. Samuel and Ella Webb; 2 brothers, Mr. Samuel Webb Jr. and Mr. Charles Webb; 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Marie Webb and Mrs. Verline Webb.
