FOSTER, Ms. Janet - Age 54, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025 in Flint, MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Friday, November 14, 2025, at Second Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 6046 N. Clio Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 AM Friday. Ms. Foster will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday. Janet Denise Foster was born July 02,1971, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She is the daughter of Warren and Marylyn Foster. She moved to Flint, Michigan in 1973. Janet gave her life to Christ at an early age and attended St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church and later joined New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church. She started her education at Pierson Elementary School and attended Bryant Middle School and attended Northwestern High School and Beecher High School. Janet exceled in basketball where she was awarded at Beecher High School as the most Valuable Player, received special recognition of all conference, all state all Michigan in 1990. She not only excels in basketball, but she also excels academically. Janet earned her high school diploma and graduated from Beecher High School in 1990. She received a basketball scholarship for Upper Iowa University where she attended for two years before deciding to join ARMY. Janet enlisted in the ARMY and served four years. Once Janet returned to Flint, Michigan from the ARMY she started her career at the State of Michigan as a Claim Examiner in 2001, working in the Lapeer Branch. She loved working and she was consist of and dependable and she was a member of the dream team. In 2002-2003 when the branch offices were closed, she went to work at the Saginaw, Michigan RICC where she spent the rest of her career. Janet’s favorite hobbies were physical fitness where she attended Planet Fitness and enjoyed working out at her home gym and doing yard work. Janet was also healthy when it came to her eating habits, always eating oatmeal for breakfast and drinking green tea. Janet also loved her Maxwell coffee. Janet also loved to collect and admire luxury vehicles. She also loved shopping at furniture stores and decorating. She also loved her dog coco. Janet had a generosity of giving and being there for her family and friends. Janet Denise Foster leaves to cherish the memory: father, Warren Foster Sr.; brother, Warren Foster Jr. and wife, Mamie Foster; sister, Melenia Foster, all of Flint, Michigan; and brother, Roger Foster and wife, Rosetta Foster of Saginaw, Michigan. Janet leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, Torrie Foster, Ontario Wynn, Warren Foster, Roger Foster Jr, Khloe Holmes, Nevaeh Foster, Domynic Foster, Devin Foster, Sataria Greer, all of Flint, Michigan; the entire Adell family and Foster family. Janet was preceded in death by her mother, Marylyn Foster; and her dad, Fred Thomas.
