WASHINGTON, Mr. James Edward "Sisco" - Age 73, passed away Friday, May 25, 2012 at Avalon Hospice. Family hour 1:30p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service at 2p.m. Interment Crestwood Cemetery, 2020 E. Hill Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Washington will lie in state in Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12noon-8pm. Monday. Mr. James Edward “Sisco” Washington was born on June 16, 1938 in Memphis, Tennessee, to William Sisco and Addie Mae Washington. He received his early education in Memphis, TN. In 1957, James relocated to Flint. He was employed by General Motors, Chevrolet V8 Engine retiring after 43 years of service. James was a member of UAW Local # 689. He met the late, Mary (Raglon) Washington in 1958, and to this union four children were born, 3 daughters and 1 son. In 1975, James united in marriage to Myra (Wofford) Washington and to this union 1 daughter was born. He also helped to raise 4 step-daughters. James enjoyed reading his Bible daily, watching Westerns, cooking, listening to music and cruising in his Chevy Impala. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. James will be remembered for his great sense of humor and always putting a smile on your face. Mr. Washington leaves to cherish his memory: 4 daughters, Debra (David) Jones of Yorktown, VA, Kimberly Washington of Hampton, VA, Shelly Wright of Newport News, VA, Trinket (Allen) Wesley of Mt. Morris, MI; son, William (Kimberly) Washington of Newport News, VA; 4 step-daughters, Dawn (Gerome) Peterson of Burton, MI, Minerva (Keith) Peterson, Simone Wofford, Sonia Wofford, all of Flint; 20 grandchildren, Tika, Sheree, Quinton, Thomas, Diondra, Echo, Shandreka, Kendall, Tayler, Crystal, Ashley, Dequante’, Allen, Jr., Corrinda, Isaiah, Leon, Jr., Lexie, Jr., Destinee, Keith, Jr., and Maranda; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Small; brother, Stefan Teer of Flint; long time companion, Ophelia King of Davison, MI; special cousin, Evelyn Boyd of Burton, MI; aunt, Ernestine (Edward) Robinson of Saginaw, MI; and sister-in-law, Patricia (Rodger) Marshall of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Washington was preceded in death by first wife, Mary (Raglon) Washington; his mother, Addie Mae Washington; father, William Sisco; aunts, Evelyn Andrews, Marie Smith; brother, Clarence Small, Jr.; cousins, Lonnie Sisco and Calvin Neely.
