Mr. James Rufus Robinson

ROBINSON, Mr. James R., - Age 75, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Hurley Medical Center. Public Viewing will be held Friday, July 31, 2020 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Mr. James Rufus Robinson was born July 17, 1945 in Flint, Michigan, the son of James D and Ethel M. Robinson. James was a life time resident of Flint and attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Flint Southwestern High School, “Class of 1963”. He retired from Buick Motor Corporation, a division of General Motors Corporation. James was an avid walleye fisherman and a big Minnesota Vikings fan. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. James served in the United States Army, Big Red Division, in Vietnam. Mr. Robinson was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army. Mr. James Robinson leaves to cherish his memory: son, David L. Robinson; grandchildren, Kasey Robinson and David Robinson Jr., all of Lansing, MI; 3 great-grandchildren, Ziyon, Zayden and Zayvier Robinson; 3 sisters, Margaret (Jack) Pleasant, of Flint, Juanita (Lionel) Moltimore of Atlanta, GA and Kathy Robinson of Flint, MI; 6 nieces, Shanean Burke, Robin Pleasant, Janelle Robinson, Danielle Robinson, Britanny Robinson and Tara Pearson; 4 nephews, Dondrick (Trachelle) Robinson, Antwaun (Nicole) Robinson, Zachary Franklin and Eric McWilliams; cousins, Jack Overton, Doris Overton, Deloris (Alonzo) Short and Carolyn Greene; sisters-in-law, Minerva (William) Allison, Arlene Clerkley, all of Flint, Lesley Clerkley, of Erwin TN, Roberta Evans of Atoka, TN and a host of other relatives and friends including special friends Robert Holmes, Jr. (Knight Rider), Otis Nunn, Oscar McNairy, Jeffrey McLaurin and family, Al Vaughn, Byron Harden and Otis Cheatem. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Robinson; son, James (Lucky) Robinson; parents, James and Ethel Robinson; brother, Donald Robinson; sister, Janet Robinson.
