PRICE, Mr. James D. "Big Boy" - Age 17, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 in Huntsville, Alabama. Family hour 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Price will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. James Desandies Price, Jr. was born November 8, 1992 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Naseera Menjuan (Holliday) Baker and James Desandies Price, Sr. James was a resident of Flint and attended Flint Public Schools before moving to Huntsville, AL when he was seven years old. He graduated May 14, 2010 from Faith Covenant Academy in Huntsville. James was outgoing, funny, compassionate and was well loved by many. He was sure to make you smile. James enjoyed playing basketball with the Alabama Elite Traveling Basketball Team for which he played with for 3 years. He also had a passion for music, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. James had a vision that the Lord would use his life to touch others. He dreamed of being a motivational speaker and counselor to help many through their times of distress. James had a heart that loved people unconditionally. “Big Boy” gave from the heart and protected those he loved. Throughout his journey of life, he faced many challenges, but he often prayed to God for strength and comfort. Now James is resting with no more struggles and he will be greatly missed by many. Mr. James Desandies Price, Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: parents, Naseera M. and Kendall Baker of Huntsville, AL; grandparents, Rochelle Holliday, Janice Price, Augusta Leatherman, Delton Mayfield, Randy Thornton and Marvin Baker, all of Flint; sister, E’sabya Monae Baker of Huntsville, AL; 2 brothers, Antonio and Eonte` Holliday; 11 aunts, Konita and Kila Holliday, Janis Thornton, Desi Price, Bobbie Nicholson, Lavern and Pela Leatherman, Shelia and Claudia Perkins, Linda and Deltesha Mayfield, all of Flint; 8 uncles, Laron Thornton, Sujaa “Scooby” Watson, Al McKnight, Ralpheal Robinson, Alan Anderson, Donald Perkins, all of Flint, Derrick (Joanne) Baker of Huntsville, AL and Rodney Baker of Ionia, MI; a host of cousins including, Nandi, Kamira, Armani, Twan, Kanila and KeyArah, all of Flint; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Geraldine Alexander, Deborah Jordan, special teacher, Gary Shelby at Chapman Middle School and many other close friends in Huntsville, AL. Mr. Price was preceded in death by his father, James Desandies Price, Sr.; grandmother, Sarah Baker; grandfather, Tommy Price; aunt, Twyla Leatherman; and uncles, Randy Thornton, Maurice and Vernon Baker.
