Love, Mr. James Curtis - Age 66, passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 at Alpena Hospital. Family Hour 10a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11a.m. Interment Curran Cemetery Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Thursday. Mr. Love will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12Noon - 8p.m. Wednesday. Mr. James Curtis Love was born on October 6, 1945, to the parent of Sarah (Love) Jones in Covington, TN., the second oldest of eleven siblings. James graduated from Frazier High School and was baptized at an early age in Covington, TN. In 1968 he moved to Flint, retiring from Buick City GM after 33 years of service. He relocated in 2004 to Curran, MI. Devoted husband and father to his wife, children and grandchildren and was always there for them. James loved outdoor chores, playing basketball, spending quality family time together and watching sports. He specialized in making his family laugh all the time. Mr. Love was united in Holy Matrimony to devoted and loving wife, LouAnn Ballard of 34 years. He leaves to cherish his memories: loving wife, LouAnn (Ballard) Love; 6 children, James A. Watkins, Lashonda D. Watkins, Kendrick K. Ballard, Jermaine N. Ballard, Marlon (special daughter-in-law, Christol) Ballard and Stacey Watkins; 13 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Brenda (James) Poindexter, Linda Jones, Valarie Armstrong, all of Flint, Threather Jones of Ft. Wayne, TN.; 6 brothers, Roy Jones of Atlanta, GA., Lonnie Jones of Birwood, CA., Chalmer (Denise) Avery, Davie (Lisa) Love, Robert (Patricia) Jones and Paul Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends; 2 aunts, Lina Hall and Barbara Bettis; uncle, Henry Love; father-in-law, Stanley Ballard; sister-in-law, Joan (Robert) Browne of Hillmen, MI; 2 brothers-in-law, Gene (Gail) Ballard of Curran, MI and Gary (Colleen) Ballard of Flint. Mr. Love was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Love; son, Marcus L. Ballard; grandmother, Maggie Love; mother-in-law, Pauline Ballard; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Ballard.
