JORDAN, Mr. James C. - Age 84, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Brian's House. Family hour 9AM Friday, January 30, 2009 at Kingdom Life Ministries, 2316 Corunna Rd., with funeral service commencing at 10AM, Bishop Alvernis Johnson officiating. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 9AM Friday. Mr. Jordan will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 3Pm-8PM Thursday. Mr. James C. Jordan was born April 10, 1924 in Jackson, Mississippi, the son of Maggie and January Jordan. He was a resident of Flint. Mr. Jordan was a World War II Veteran. He retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing after 26½ years and was a member of UAW Local #659. Mr. Jordan was a kind and generous man, who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was an active member of the Northwest Neighborhood Improvement as a Van Driver and Block Club Captain. Mr. received an Outstanding Volunteer Award from the Mayor of Flint for 15 years of service. Mr. James C. Jordan leaves to cherish his memory: devoted daughter, Carolyn Jordan of Flint, MI; son, James A. Jordan, Jr. of Chicago, IL; 2 brothers, Samuel and Willie “Bill” Jordan both of Dayton, OH; a host of grandchildren including devoted grandchildren, Jahid Jordan (financee’ Latrice) of Bloomfield, MI, LaToya Jordan-Bell of Flint, MI, Virginia (Darryl) Wilson, Carl Day all of Camden, SC, Wendy (Angelo) Cody of Fayettville, GA, Frances Day of Midlothian, VA, Tonya (Swaitti) Lewis of Flint, MI, a host of great-grandchildren including, devoted great grandchildren, La’Shaun & Makala Wilson of Detroit, MI, Andrea Washington of Flint, MI, Nakysha Arrington, Alayna Fortuck of Midlothian, VA, NaTysha Arrington of Detroit, MI, a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Jordan was preceded in death by wife, Clara Jordan; 2 daughters, Mary Ann Day Allen and Lula Mae Lewis; grandson, Determen Jones; parents, Maggie and January Jordan; brothers, Walter and Amos Jordan. The family would like to express special thanks to Bishop Alvernis L. Johnson and Kingdom of Life Ministries, Visiting Nurses of McLaren Regional Hospital, Brian House Hospice, granddaughters, Frances Day and Virginia Wilson.
