JONES, Mr. James Edward Jr. "Boonie" - Age 23, passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Friday, February 6, 2009 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM, Pastor Bobby Banks, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30AM Friday. Mr. Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Thursday. Mr. James Edward Jones, Jr., “Boonie” was born September 6, 1985 in Flint, Michigan, the son of James Jones and Lois (Walker) Jones. James attended Beecher High School graduating “Class of 2003.” As a youth he attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, where they taught that bad association spoils useful habits. He dedicated his life to the Lord in July 2008, becoming a member of Holy Trinity M.B.C. James was employed at Modus Link in Nashville, TN, Steve and Barry’s and Vlasic Pickle Factory in Michigan. His passion was video games. James also liked watching sports, being in “BucTown” and being supportive of his nieces and nephews. Mr. James Edward Jones, Jr., “Boonie” leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Jamaya Christian; mother and stepfather, Lois (Daniel) White of Flint, MI; father, James Jones of Hermitage, TN; grandparents, Erma (Alex) Barnes, Nancy Miller, all of Flint and Charles (Alberta) Watkins of Grand Prairie, TX; sisters, Tyra, Crystal (Fred) and Candice Jones; 8 nieces, Allonnah, Ateya, Miracle, Camilia, Trinity, Catera, Nacareaya, and Porsha; 2 nephews, Keonta and Deontae, all of Flint; 2 aunts, Donna Walker and Claudette Pittman; 5 uncles, Ezra (Linda) Barnes, Woodrow (Bonita) Thompson, Q.B. (Cheryl), Dewayne (Melissa) and Tommie Lee Pittman; a host of other relatives and friends including special cousins, Zemair “Mook”, Jesse, and Tameka; special friends, Steve McMillian, Lee Fields, Jason Sharp, Frank Taylor, Tony Richardson, Calvin Whirl, Torrance Roberson and Terell Brooks. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his grandfather, Herman Wilks; and uncles, Jesse Barnes and Timothy Miller. The family would like to express special thanks to Holy Trinity M.B.C. family, Marva Dukes, Leon McIntosh, Robair Smith, the Watson and Hudson families, Felita Keith, the Howard, Walker families and the Benevia Cook family for traveling so far.
