HOWELL, Mr. James Earl – Age 62, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at his residence. Family hour 11AM Thursday, September 17, 2009 at New Beginnings Ministries, G-5227 Beecher Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:30AM, Apostle Clarence Lewis, Host Pastor. Pastor Jesse Wilson, Jr. officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Thursday. Mr. Howell will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 Noon-8PM Wednesday. Mr. James Earl Howell “PJ” was born March 12, 1947 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, the son of Jessie Sr. and Onie Lee Wilson. He was a resident of Dallas, TX. He graduated from Higgins High School, in Clarksdale, MS. Mr. Howell was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Flint. He joined Father, Son, Holy Spirit Ministries in Flint, where he was a faithful Deacon. He moved to Dallas,TX in September of 2003, where he joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and was also a Deacon. James enlisted in the military an served three years. He then began truck driving school and began truck driving for General Motors, where he served 28 faithful years. Mr. Howell also was a member of the Eureka Lodge #16. James had lots of hobbies, such as swimming, fishing, traveling, playing pool and taking pictures. He loved to go sailing on his boat and motorcycle riding. James was a very energetic person. He loved his family and most of all, he loved the Lord. Mr. James Earl Howell “PJ” leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Pearl Howell of Dallas, TX; 5 children, Colthilda Metts of St. Louis, MO, Patricia Howell of Atlanta, GA, Jarvon Howell of Flint, Kimberly Jones of Iowa, Danielle Pearson of Flint; 3 step-children, Charles Pittman of Midland, MI, Anthony Pittman of Flint, and Chell Pittman of Atlanta, GA; father, Jessie Wilson, Sr.; 6 sisters, Joyce (Ishmail) Bah of Flint, Rosie Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK, Betty Williams of Reno, NV, Sherice Wilson of New York City, NY, Terrell (James) Crayton of Flint, Christiana (Michael) Cain of New York City, NY; 5 brothers, Douglas Wilson, David (Joni) Wilson, all of Flint, Calvin (Yvonne) Wilson, Ulysses (Cindy) Wilson, all of Oklahoma City, OK, Jessie (Chell) Wilson of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; aunts, Mamie Lee Taylor, Marie Franklin, both of Chicago, IL, Amanda Robinson of Memphis, TN; father-in-law, John W. Yarbrough of Sacramento, CA; sisters-in-law, Tilda Neal, Faye Yarbrough, Patricia Yarbrough, Maria Miller; brothers-in-law, Travis Miller, Trevan and Trevan Neal, Charles and Johnny Miller, Terron Neal and Terri Miller; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Nate Robinson, Lloyd Brackins, Otha Shaw, Frank Marble, Bennie Williams, Robert Johnson, Sam Halloun and Ilene Marshall. Mr. Howell was preceded in death by daughter, Delisa Shine; mother, Onie Lee Wilson; brother, Danny Wilson, niece, Roshaunda Wilson; mother-in-law, Beulah Neal.
